Love this machine! I have had one for 20+ years and sew constantly, 4 to 6 hours everyday, my old one was having more problems than could be fixed. This new machine has not been used. I have my favorite machine brand new again. One thing I love about Singer, the foot control and embroidery unit for the new machine was missing. No problem I had the items for my old machine, problem solved. I purchased this machine for less than it would have cost me to fix the old one. Love the quality of stitch and ease of use for this machine. Just pulg-in and sew. I own several other brands of machines, nothing I own is as easy to use and sews on any type of fabric I want to use.
The xl - 1000 is a really good choice for a new machine embroiderer. The machine has enough options to get you started. It will allow you to find out what you really want or need in an embroidery machine when it comes time to upgrade. If you add the PSW (Professional Sew Ware) software, you'll be able to do just about everything. You also have less expensive options such as The Amazing Box or Magic Box software, which will allow you to transfer a wide variety of downloaded designs other than those provided by the Singer design cards. The Singer XL-1000 has been well worth it's purchase price.
I bought a XL1000 from my local dealer 5 years ago and I LOVE IT!! It is a great machine, easy to use and the embroidered design is so nice.I have all of the cards and just purchased a magic box last march from a ebay seller and now have 1000's of designs I can use.So when I had the chance to get another machine ? decided to get another XL1000 and I can use all the cards and deesigns I have and will have 2 doing embroidery on pockets for quilted purses while I am sewing on my Singer CXL. I take my purses to the local craft shows and get lots of positive comments of how well they are made and how beautiful the embroidery is. Maybe if I can sew faster now I can list some on ebay in the near future. I have always used a Singer machine and still have my 1st Singer Spartan model from 1962 and my childs model handcrank Singer from the 50's I hope to pass on my machines to my oldest great granddaughter some day and hope that she enjoys them as much as I have.Read full review
By using parts from the old machines I’ve gotten it to work like a new machine. I’ll get many years of use out of this machine. Thanks!
