I bought this product because I had read rave reviews on it on its release over a year ago. I had also read reviews criticising its noisy sensor The price i paid was excellent. However, had i paid the price on its launch date I would have found it disappointing. This camera is hit and miss lets start with its good points. Superb menu system, much easier than on a similar camera i owned. Ability to access user defined settings easily, and to change things easily with the function key on the lens. Excellent image quality in moderate to good lighting. Long exposure times and bulb setting great for night photogrpahy A significant step up from most compact cameras. Manual mode is a joy to use as its so easy to adjust the settings. Easy handling and light weight It fits in an overcoat pocket with the standard lens collapsed. I guess it will fit in a jacket pocket with the pancake lens. The biggest negative is its noisy sensor. Even at 100 asa/iso, areas of darkness show noise in some shots. Macro is disappointing in that the minimum focus distance is too far to create any impact. In conclusion, sometimes it gives results on a par with low end DSLR's, which is above the performance of compacts i have owned. If you are looking for a sub £200 camera, i think this is in the running. Im not sure if im allowed to change this review as i become more familiar with it, so i add the caveat that ive had it around a monthRead full review
It is a very good camera! I tested it a lot and the picture quality is very good in daylight. For low light I use a Samsung flash and the results are good. I used a tripod in the night and the results are great for long exposures. The lens is convenient being collapsible. Screen is quite good. I recommend shooting in RAW mode. I just ordered an Chinese adapter for M42 screw lenses and I can hardly wait to test my 50mm f2 Petri manual lens. When using old lenses the cropping factor of this camera makes an 50mm lens act like an 75 one (as an example).
Good camera. very pleased with the small size and weight. I am not a professional and do not know very well the cameras, but even to my untrained use picture is clear, and quality. But still it is necessary to study the function, so the camera will shoot much better. Price acceptable
