YOU DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY THING THERE IS. THE PRICE WOULD BE OK IF IT WERE USER FRIENDLY. I CANNOT SPEAK FOR OTHER CALIBERS, I THINK IT MIGHT BE BETTER WITH LARGER CASES BUT WITH THE SMALL 223 IT IS NOT EASY TO LOAD ESPECIALLY FOR BIG OLD THUMBS AND THAT IS IN WARM WEATHER, IN THE COLD IT WILL BE WORSE. THERE CERTAINLY HAVE BEEN OTHER MAGS MADE FROM METAL THAT WERE EASIER TO USE. FOR AS NICE AS THE RIFLE IS THE MAG COULD BE BETTER. THE RIFLE CANNOT BE USED WITH OUT THE MAG, NOT EVEN SINGLE SHOT.

it's ok for a rotary box but I wish ruger would of made the rifle with a straight up regular clip because every rifle I've ever shot that larger a 22 has had feeding issues that stem from the rotary box & not to mention that 30 dollars & up is pretty much standard price for a rotary box & for something that gives you problems 50% of the time that is kinda expensive!

Information on the magazine is misleading. It says it’s for the Ruger American .223 rifle, but it’s much too large. This rifle appears to be a second generation rifle. It came with a 10 round box magazine. The first generation rifle had a built in internal magazine that was fed from the top through the receiver. This mag will not fit my rifle.

Only thing available, so it has to work. Just be sure ammo is fully seated at rear of magazine, and feed the shells in slowly and firmly.

It works as intended and I wanted an extra two or three magazines minimum. They had it I bought it they delivered it and I was happy.
