I was introduced to Ben Folds' current release Supersunnyspeedgraphic on Thanksgiving of '06. I had heard of Folds before, but only as the leader of the 3 piece band, Ben Folds Five. He had a real amusing take on the world and brought something fresh to his music that only seemed familiar, yet never heard before before. So I decided to delve into Folds' past and found this "Rockin' The Suburbs" CD from 2001. "Suburbs", to me is his most brilliant effort. The songs are catchy and infectious("Not the Same", "Zak and Sara") and beautiful("Annie Waits") and having gone through most of his CD library now, I still find myself listening to "Suburbs" more then any of the 4 or 5 Folds' CDs I now own. Don't question buying this CD, just buy it...You'll thank me!

This is Ben Folds most even album (minus the title track which is awesome) and it comes across a bit more mature and focused than some of his previous work. I have said while reviewing his other CDs that I like the uneven feel. But, I must also say here that a focused Ben sounds pretty darn good too. Heck, it's Ben Folds. You need all his CDs. 5 Huge Stars.
Repurchased a critical piece that had become missing from my library.
