Bought this to replace the icemaker for our 16-year-old Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator, which was making ice, but had a leak that constantly had an icicle form that resulted in a block of ice forming in one comer of the ice bin. I would constantly have to clear this block of ice out of the ice bin, which got to be a real pain. The replacement unit was an exact fit, and, except for a few parts (the wire actuator/ice cube level control, and the old wire harness) that had to be transferred from the old one to the new one, the replacement was pretty much "plug and play". Took off the old one, assembled the new one, and positioned the new one and screwed it in place. I saw reviews that said the unit came with no instructions, but there are several YouTube videos that show how the replacement is done. Folks, get used to doing a little research. Bottom line, plugged the refrigerator back in, pushed it back to the wall, and turned the icemaker on. In a few hours, heard the sound of the first ice cubes dropping into the bin. The bin is almost full of ice after three or four days in operation. This was a great upgrade for our 16-year-old fridge.Read full review

There is some labor involve to take some old parts from the original unit and transferring them to the new one. The problem I have is the ON/OFF bracket is too short on the new unit and it keeps making ice non stop and I through away to old one. No instructions came with the new ice maker warning me that it would not be an exact fit and it wasn't.

Product is exactly what I needed. The instruction sheet it came with was a little lacking, i.e. not a lot of illustrations. Fortunately, I was able to visually compare my old unit with this replacement, and was able to ascertain "what goes where", and install the item. One other drawback was the front cover plate on this new unit was cracked at the corner. I simply re-used the cover plate from my old unit with this new one, and voila, all is good. The price for this was very good, better than I expected. And the merchant delivered the item to me in just 2 or 3 days, much to my surprise. I am pleased.

My elderly parents were quoted $300 to replace the ice maker which had been broken for three years. I had no trouble removing the old unit, 4 hex head screws and a snap in wire harness. When looking for a replacement prices were as high as $139 through Kenmore. I figured how could I go wrong with the eBay listed price of around $39. The part that was sent looked almost identical to the original except for cosmetic difference of the plastic cover. Also the wire harnesses sent were too short but luckily the original one was intact and fit the replacement ice maker. I had the the part installed in 10 minutes. It made ice 2 hrs later and has functioned without issue for the last 3 months. Apparently Supco, the maker of this unit makes just about all the ice makers for various brands with the variable being the wiring harness. This not a hard project for the mildly mechanically inclined!Read full review

This ice maker kit is a great guy and product. It will fit almost any refrigerator that uses this type of an ice maker. Included in the ice maker kit, or items that you might need to make it fit in most refrigerators. The price and the quality, are both excellent.
