I LOVE IT! I will keep telling every person I see to read it. She teaches a can do attatude. My kid (13yrs)was labeled like she said and now he thinks he has all those learning problems. Instead of trying, he just uses the "I'm learning disabled" status the schools have put on him. I read everything I can and Marva Collins has the best ideas. I underlined some things and will have him read those, as well as try to get him to read books she has mentioned. One person said she is to repetiative, maybe she is just trying to get it into our head. We need more of this Old School attitude... I just can't say enough good things about this book. 5 stars are just not enough to rate this book.
A great read, this is a must have for anyone who wants to teach their children and others. I bought the product because I am a person who wants to make a difference and not buy into this apathy in education. I want our children to hold their heads up high and realize they can obtain their dreams.
I love Marva Collins way of viewing education, children, and family. This book reminds you of what education is supposed to be about. It is a must have for every parent, teacher, and homeschooling parent. It is very refreshing & encouraging. I'm thinking of purchasing more to share with friends and family.
This book contains some good information, but it gets lost in a repetitive, rambling mess. There were several times that incorrect grammar were used. I was disappointed overall, and expected more.
