NOTE - This is a review of Open Water ONLY! This film is much better than I remembered it. Which begs the question, why did I want to re-watch it again if I did not like it that much in the first place? Well.... I grabbed it in a two pack with Open Water 2 on Blu Ray at a cheap price, and I wanted to see if my original description was correct. If anyone asked me about Open Water earlier, I would have said "Oh yeah, that movie with two people arguing for an hour in some water" Man, that was wrong.... they only argued for five minutes. So a young couple get left behind after going diving to look at the fishes, thanks to a collection of mishaps and mixups. They drift about in the water for a few hours while various sharks circle them, building up the tension in a "will they or won't they be eaten" scenario. Sure, it's not the most exciting movie in the world, but it gets the job done. It's filmed in a "real" way (Ala Paranormal Activity and Cloverfield) with a camcorder, to make you feel closer to the action (or like you are watching a deranged home movie) which adds to the atmosphere I guess. Oh yeah, and one more thing. It is "based on a true story" which is one of my pet peeves. You can take ANY story (or a part of it) and say it is based on a true story. I got up, walked down the street... and was attacked by aliens!!! (hey, I got up and walked down the street, that is the "based on a true story" part) If you are into this kind of movie, it's worth a look, and at a short running time of 81 minutes, the director made the right decision by keeping the film trim, I mean how much can you do with two people floating in some water for an hour? Surprisingly, more than you would imagine.Read full review
The first film was somewhat interesting but very slow. Second film was worse and slower. A good pair of slow starters but not much plot and bad actors. Rent or borrow before buying to save the expense.

I bought this in blue ray for my Blu-ray players. Open water played fine. Openwater 2 will not load on either one of my players. I tried turning it over and that didn't work either. I Don't whether they put the title on and forgot to load the movie! I am truly disappointed.
