This phone is really easy to use, the features are just what we like, camera is good, not great but I have a real camera for taking pictures. It has a small button on side near top to press to flip open to answer your phone if ringing, which I love especially if your hands are full. The inside is nice and bright so you can see to dial, also the screen is a nice size so you can your pictures. The speaker is AWESOME and is one of the main reasons why my husband and I both love this phone. It is nice and loud when you need it (in noisy situations) Don't text so I can't tell you much about how friendly this phone is on that. The battery life doesn't last very long(depends on how much you have it on and use it) so I charge mine every night We just use it for a phone to call people and I would give it two thumbs up!!Read full review
Great phone overall. Speakerphone is loud and clear like I wanted. The camera is easy to use and takes pretty good pictures. I got a data cable for $3 online and was able to create wma or wav files for ringers. Mp3s won't work on this phone as a ringer because T-mobile had it disabled. The phone is very sturdy. It also has a good SAR percentage which is important for radiation absorption. I use my bluetooth or the speakerphone if I'm holding a long conversation. The only negative thing I found was that the battery doesn't last very long. My husband bought his brand new and the battery still can't take a days workout like our other phones. You have to charge it every night or other wise it won't take you into the next day.
These are reasonably nice phones for the cost, they feature the 2 Gig MP3 Player Option with the addition of a MicroSD card. The differences, the 6133 is simply a 6126 licensed for T-Mobile, the 6126 was made for Cingular/AT&T. Likes, really nice screen compared to a lot of phones in this price range, very sharp high resolution. Good camera. Visually and cosmetically a very nice phone, and features a spring loaded flip screen that opens with the push of a button at the hinge. Dislikes, it has a little less internal memory than most comparible phones and the call menus are a bit cumbersome (they don't dial numbers by default when you select a number, you have to look up the numbers options to dial it). It will not operate without a battery, even with a power cord hooked in. If there isn't enough juice in the battery or the battery isn't present, it will not turn on, power cord or no power cord. Seems to be common on a lot of Nokia phones. The case is poorly designed, with weak points in the external screen cover near the hinge that is easy to catch on the edges when the phone is shut and is proan to cracking, and a battery cover that comes off to easily. I mainly use Sony Erickson phones (not nearly as nice of a screen, but will work without batteries, friendlier menus, more built in memory (my w300i has 20 Megs as apposed to the 6126s 8 Megs. and the camera takes equally high quality pictures) Biggest issue I've had with them is connection problems on the hard wire port (proan to corrosion, particularly after toddlers slobber on the contacts, siliva is acidtic and eats the copper and even damages circuit boards, but that's common for any electronic that wasn't designed to be put in the water.) I originally bought a Nokia 6126 for a third line for my daughter. She mistreated it and I bought a 6133 for parts to fix it up, (needed new case and screen cable when she was done with it) and now use the remaining screenless 6133 circuit board to charge the extra battery for the 6126. Overall a nice phone and good product, with good performance once you get used to it, but I would definately change the design so it could run without a battery installed.Read full review
I bought this phone to replace my Nokia 6133 because the screen started going out on mine. This would be the only reason I didn`t rate it excellent. The reasons I believe it is a hidden jewel of a cell phone are...#1 It doesn`t have a cool nickname like Razr or L7 or sidekick it is just a Nokia 6133. #2 one of the 6133`s best features is the little button on the side that makes it super easy to flip open with one hand, but nobody really talks about it,I think because it is politically incorrect to brag about a feature that makes it easy to talk while driving. As far as I know it is the only phone that has that little button and it really is useful not just a gimmick. #3The camera, maybe the best camera and zoom that you can get in an inexpensive phone, and with a micro SD memory card you can take longer video`s.And the screens which apparently have a tendency to quit working, are both color and the inside screen is as large as any that I have seen.#4 The overall size and shape of the phone is perfect and feels good in your hand.#5 No antenna or antenna stub to jab you in your pocket.Nokia has always made good phones and this one is no exception, from the minute I tried out the zoom (smooth and fast)and seen how sharp and clear the pictures are,I knew I didn`t want any other phone, that is why I bought one used when mine started to act up,and this one is just as nice as my first one.I probably should say I used and abused the first phone every day for almost 2 years before it started acting funny.I recommend the Nokia 6133 to anybody looking for a inexpensive cell phone that is a phone first. It looks and acts like an ordinary cell phone, but it`s a lot more.Read full review
The Nokia 6133 phone is the successor to the widely popular Nokia 6102i model. When you think Nokia, you think of their nice and simple soap bar styled phones, but they are doing a great job on the flip-phone side of things. I've rated each of this phones most prominent features on a scale of 1 to 10: Design (9/10) - While not as thin and sleek as lets say the RAZR, it's rounded edges gives it a good portable feel in your pocket. Im guessing Nokia decided to borrow some old industry designs to include in the 6133. It's exterior is wrapped in a black colored rubberized texture (Motorola V300 series anyone?) with a silver trim around it, giving the phone a very nice rugged feel to it. And like the Nextel i860, it features a flip button which when pressed, automatically flips the phone open, something not seen very often on phones these days. Screen (9/10) - Interior screen is big (2.2 inches) and beautiful. Animation, photos, graphics and text are vivid. External screen also doubles as mirror for vanity shots and is larger than most phones. MP3 Player/FM tuner (6/10) - Supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, and eAAC+ file formats. Although nothing special, it features an FM tuner which you won't find on most phones. Disappointinly, the music stored and played on the phone must be purchased directly from T-Mobile's service for addittional fees. To be able to use the phones MP3 Player ability, you'll need to seperately purchase a special headset, USB data cable and a MicroSD card for additional space (phone comes with a small 11MB onboard memory). Multimedia Features (8/10) - Contains features and functions found on most mainstream phones and sometimes even better. On top of the usual Alarm, Calendar, Tasks, Calculator, World Time, Unit Conversion, Timer, and Stopwatch there is also a translator, presenter, and sensor. Internet is provided by the fast broadband EDGE network so you can check email or browse the web. There is also access the T-Zone networks for downloads of music, games, wallpaper, more web applications, or access a variety of premium services. Phone is preloaded with three games. Features bluetooth wireless connectivity for headsets, handsfree car kits and laptop computers. Battery Life (7/10) - Battery life is decent, factory rated at 210 minutes of talk time, although I tested it at a little under 3 hours. Battery life is lower with internet or multimedia usage. Camera/Video (7/10) - Has a 1.3MP camera which takes decent pictures, although i've seen better quality results with other 1.3MP camera phones. There is no flash so dark or night shots are not possible. Although nothing special, the camera is basic enough to please most regular users. MicroSD Slot (6/10) - Necessary if you want to store additional pictures, videos and music. Easy to pop in and very small (easily lost as well!). The cards are very cheap so its a great upgrade to get. Unfortunately as with the previous Nokia flip phones, accessing the slot takes a little more work. You'll need to open the battery cover to get to it (at least you don't need to remove the battery this time). The Nokia 6133 is an improvement from the 6102i but there are still some kinks to work out. T-Mobile also needs give their consumers more freedom when it comes to multimedia and entertainment functions. Overall, if your looking for a nicely priced and feature packed phone from T-Mobile, the Nokia 6133 is a good choice. Please vote YES if my review has been helpful!Read full review
