Was easy to install and get working, Has nice sharp picture and the color is great. Notifies my smart phone whenever there is movement. The batteries seem to be lasting longer than expected. 75% after 2 weeks in operation.I started with one camera to see if I wanted to add more. CONS: Notifies me when the wind blows the trees. The image too small on my laptop & can't figure how to make it full screen. I would recommend if you are looking for a completely wireless system.

I have setup and used various cameras over the past few years from IP cams to DropCams. While the setup and syncing process for the Arlo is very simple. The interface is much to be desired. It's not the fastest to launch but once launched your shown the list of camera. But, you'll need to click on each camera to play the feed. Good luck on trying to stream more than 1. Even at home. In the same network. With 100mpbs uplink and download , I can barely just be able to get 2 streams working. Let alone trying to get all 4 camera streaming. No option to live feed on launch, and I now know why. Recording with motion detection works but no way to set a zone, only able to set sensitivity. Image quality is not that good. Typical camera quality. Battery life still good so far but only had it installed for a few days. Recharging it is going to be a pain because you need the battery in the camera with the camera inactive(from what I read) using the supplied charger only. Or spend $$$ on a separate battery and charger comboRead full review

I purchased this 1 camera kit with base station to add to another 4 camera kit with base station. I bought a Netgear Nighthawk WiFi range extender and put it in my metal pole barn almost 400 feet from my house. I was amazed that it connected. So, I plugged one base station into the ethernet port on the range extender and put up Arlo cameras on the front and back of my pole barn. Then, I set up the second base station in my house to work with the other three Arlo cameras around my house. I am really still amazed at the ability to monitor my pole barn from almost 400 feet from my house! It was a bit expensive ($150 for the WiFi range extender and $600 for all five cameras and two base stations) but, worth it to protect more expensive equipment in my barn. My neighbor had recently let me know that his security system caught a guy wandering on his property and, that he crossed through our property to get there. Some people worry about the batteries running out too quickly but, if you set the cameras to only come on when motion is detected, you should be fine. You can also buy rechargeable batteries for these cameras on eBay. The picture quality is amazing, even on the lowest of three settings. And, it is simple to turn the motion detection on and off by selecting "Arm" and "Disarm." You also have the option to click "play" for each camera and get a live view (but doing this frequently will use up your batteries). You also have the option to select how long you want each camera to record, after it has detected motion. A setting of 10 to 15 seconds is good. I also like that the cameras have a motion detection test mode, where it will show a blue light on the camera when it detects motion and, you can adjust it accordingly. I guess my only concern is that it doesn't come with multiple ceiling mounts. And, I am also thinking that I am going to going to have to take these cameras offline and bring them inside during the coldest part of Michigan's winter. It's minimum operating temperature is 14 degrees Fahrenheit (18 degrees below freezing) which is pretty good still. But, in January/February, it can get pretty cold here.Read full review

It works but.......the ability of setting/changing of the camera's motion detection and recording length don't work unless you pay Arlo money to make use of the features. Arlo should explain that you don't have full use of the camera unless you pay them money to allow access of the camera features in their product information. All camera security systems allow full access BUT Arlo don't.

Arlo has a great system...you only have to make sure your batteries are fresh to start..the HD cameras are much better than the older ones..upgrade to the latest system and enjoy!
