This is a great game, but be warned. It is old, & not optimized for today's computers. As in, it does not support more than one monitor. When you connect some FFB Driving Wheels, the navigation of the game menus become tricky to navigate (the mouse cursor is hidden, & the down key will not work). On some computers, it will simply stop working, forcing re-installations of the game, at worst, the OS. If it were not for those issues, I would rate it even higher!

I have played this game on two different platforms now (PC and XBOX 360), and on both of those platforms, i would say the game is alright. In the terms of the need for speed series, i think it fits well, but does nothing to set itself apart from the rest of the NFS canon. Story: This Need For Speed story is nothing new. you start in an underground racing community in a city where there are WAY too many cops who respond to your discrepancies WAY too fast. You start at the bottom of the illegal food chain, constantly climbing the ladder by racing faster and stronger bosses as the game progresses. The twist? you are an undercover cop, trying to expose the underground racing ring you are throwing yourself head first into. There are some lame parts in the script, with not so impressive actors and the all too familiar cinematography style that has basically infected the need for speed titles as of late. Nevertheless, the story is immersive enough to get your into it. (4.5/10) Design: While i usually like open world games (and then get tired of them before long), this one has much to be desired. You have the OPTION of driving from race to race, but this can quickly become tedious and will feel pointless when the game gives you the option to bring up the map and you can instantly jump to your preferred race, or, even MORE lazily, you have the option to INSTANTLY start the next race that the game thinks your should do. its a good idea in theory, but makes you feel like your just going through the motions to winning the game, instead of coming up with your own solution to solve the puzzle. (5/10) Gameplay: I am the kind of racing gamer that likes the game to not be too realistic. And while less realism of a vehicle's gameplay mechanic furthers the gap between the player and suspension of disbelief, i don't play racing games to feel like I'm actually racing. I like the unrealistic mechanic that says i can t-bone a cop car going 250mph and drive away with naught but a few dings in the bumper, and also says that if i go over a spike-strip, my escape attempts will be effed. I think that is my main attraction to this game. I like that they use real name brand cars and you can do realistic upgrades and modifications (Performance wise and aesthetics wise), handles semi realistically, and is fun to drive. But, I also like that they take all of this realistic pretense and throw it out the freaking window when it comes to actual racing and driving. its a healthy balance between the two, and i think, is the selling point for the series. which is also why I'm avoiding NFS ProStreet and NFS Shift like the plague.(8/10) Presentation: In several ways, i really like the aesthetic choice the developers made with this game, but at other times, its just downright annoying. When I play this game, I feel like I'm reading the first Eragon book. everything i see is just WAY too beautiful, making it all just seem too flashy and taking away from the gems that reside within. besides, if you have a huge pile of diamonds, its hard to appreciate the exceptionally beautiful ones scattered throughout. All the races happen either in early morning or late evening, when the sun is just either rising or setting, providing with a lot of glare, which is just exacerbated by the road, which was apparently paved with glass mixed into the asphalt. Need for Speed: Undercover. Mediocre racing and tacky styling leave it stuck in neutral, gunning its engine while going absolutely nowhere. While a long campaign mode and intriguing new experience system get the pistons pumping, everything grinds to a halt when the rubber hits the road in the newest installment of the series. If you haven’t played a NFS game in the past four years, Undercover is a decent option if you want to rekindle your love affair with the stalwart series. NFS of old was about hot cars, hot pursuits and miles and miles of open road, and Undercover make a semi-successful fist of recapturing some of this magic. Looks great, plays fine. There’s no getting around the fact, however, that Undercover is basically Most Wanted with a new lick of paint. OVERALL 6/10 RENT THIS GAME FIRST OR DOWNLOAD THE DEMO..TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU LIKE IT! I WOULD RECOMMEND MOST WANTED (HALF THE PRICE OF UNDERCOVER)Read full review
The worst game you may ever play. This is from someone who has played almost all nfs games since nfs2. Cars bounce into walls unexpectedly , hard to get to main menus, story itself is lame, general game play is almost unplayable. Graphics are not that great, Underground 1 and 2 are much better. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this turkey, it is a huge disappointment.

Kinda looked like most wanted from the other side of the law. Game play starts out quick but I have problems with the game and windows 7 64 bit premium version. After install and going into the options for the game and getting it set up the way I wanted with controller and everything I started getting into it. I shut down and went to bed and haven't been able to play the game since. I tried updates, uninstall reinstall, reboot after install, reinstall patch then reboot, and even compatability configurations. Nothing helps I still can't play it. Good luck to all those who had the same problems. Maybe Ea will patch one more time and it will fix it i'm not giving up on the game I own all the need for speed series and I love them all.
