To start, the film's protagonists do engage in un-PC behavior. However, they aren't viewed as in the right for doing so by everyone. That said, there are genuinely funny scenes such as the food fight scene and the climax. Plus, they do have standards and moments of caring towards other people, which is more than can be said for their rivals, who prove to have no such things and sail over the MEH several times. And, yes. Elmer Bernstein is the one scoring the film. John Landis had come quite a ways away from Schlock when he made this film. Check it out for the laughs and the 1962 era music.
