I tried to cast my own bullets first time in my life and the output was of pretty good quality from the first try. The mold came with the manual which turned out to be very explanatory and useful, so I followed instructions and here I had what I wanted. Only I would recommend to use the beeswax very sparingly, b/c it gets into the mold's cavities and causes unevenness. Quality wise - I would say very good, especially for a bit over $20 price. It is light and easy to operate, so I would definitely recommend it to friend. I wish that Lee company would have a mold for 20 GA slugs, like they have for 12 GA...

Didn't use it yet but it seems kind of sloppy compared to Lyman bullet molds it doesn't seem to lock up as good as my Lyman molds and the description said it was a two cavity mold it's only a single cavity mold.

Like all Lee moulds these cast well. I usually polish the cavities of all moulds new to me, these didn't need it, balls fall out with a couple taps, or sometimes just fall out. I will polish the cavities sooner or later. Using these .600 balls in 12ga shells with a shot cup and a patch, 3/4 oz of lead vs 7/8 oz for the Lee slug mould, save 1/8 oz per shot! OK big deal but I like shootin round balls like the old timers. Got this mould for a muzzleloader 20ga Howdah pistol, it's still on order. Check out Short Lane Arms (gunadapters.com), they sell an adapter for single-shot 12ga that allows it to be used as a muzzleloader with 209 shotgun primers. You can get a single barrel break open 12ga pretty cheap at a pawn shop, etc., and use this 20ga ball (with patches) for some smokey fun! Or get the 12ga round ball mould if you got plenty of lead to throw around. :>)Read full review

love these Lee moulds. they are made better than ever these days. Balls drop right out. On a side note. If you ever have trouble with one, there is a thread on a site called "Castboolits" that will help you out as far as getting it to cast right and anything else you could think of about using any mould. Don't forget to read the directions! Smoke those cavities.

Really an excellent mold for the larger round ball and once it gets up to temp it really throws out the round balls nearly all defect free and the sprue mark is very small so it does not interfere with accuracy. I am very glad i purchased this mold.
