I have never written a review before but thought that I should start with this book. I have read numerous amounts of books on this subject, tried every fad diet out there, gone to counseling, really I have tried just about everything and gave up. I have a very serious eating disorder that I just figured I would have to live with for the rest of my life. Within reading this book for just a couple of minutes I started to feel my attitude towards this change. It is all rather simple and obvious but the way he puts it really makes sense. This book encourages eating whatever you want and listening to your body because your body knows best. My attitude towards food, loosing weight, exercising and life has changed. What used to be all I think about is now just something that I take care of when I am hungry. I read Paul McKenna's book last year and I didn't think losing weight could be so simple. But I was so wrong. I lost 20 pounds in 3 months and have maintained that weight loss for over a year. Before Paul McKenna, I was obsessive about monitoring my eating and trying to lose weight. After Paul McKenna, I can eat whatever I want and when I'm full, I stop eating. It's really that simple. After dieting my entiire life, I finally learned to eat to live instead of living to eat. The CD helps to reinforce everything that the book teaches you, I listened to it every night before bed.
I decided to buy this book after seeing one or two shows on TV with the same title name. I noticed there were some truth to the way things were explained. I read the book and listened to the CD. I am so amazed at how dumb we have become as a people to have overlooked the most simplest of all instructions on how to live a healthy life. This book is easily understood by even young kids, yet is so mesmerizing that it leaves you with actual tools to help you (almost mindlessly) lost weight! I highly recommend the book. You will enjoy the read and see results the first day (especially with the way you feel; the confidence and energy generated from the book and CD will leave you impressed). Have fun!
Paul is right on. Diet's are our enemy. They are a permanent solution for only a small percentage of the population. Why? The guidelines and information Paul gives you in his book are not new, but they are presented in a logical easy to follow format. They are designed to help you begin to focus on your eating habits. He gives you guidelines to help you recognize when you are eating because you need nutrition and when your hunger feeling is prompted by your emotions. He has also included a hypnosis CD. I loved the book...It makes so much sense. I saw it at Barnes and Noble, wanted it but could not justify the price at the time.Then saw it on ebay..great price..bought it, loved it and I have to say it was worth 10 times what I paid for it. After years of dieting I am losing weight eating what I want. Carolyn
