This is a great serger. Built to last and runs smooth as butter. The computerized screen guides you through what you need to know to set up stitches quickly. I recommend watching the manufacturer's video (available on YouTube) and referencing it if you get stuck during the threading process. That said, I didn't think it was as hard to thread as some reviews cautioned. I have not tried to convert it to coverstitch yet, but it seams clear enough. The only possible "negative" I can think of is that sometimes my hand hits the hot lightbulb (which is uncovered) during threading, but that's just something I'll try to keep away from. I would definitely buy it over again and recommend any sewing friend to purchase this machine as well.

This had been a really good machine with lots of functionality. No it's not easy to thread, but that doesn't take away from the quality of the machine. This machine was made in the 90's and still has most of the same functions ad the new ones.

If you are looking for a no frills easy to use serger, this is NOT the machine for you. This machine is difficult to thread. It also has a 5 thread stitch that is seldom used by a regular seamstress. The computerized display is helpful in setting tensions, but needs adjusting with each different stitch. If you are a beginner to intermediate sewer, I would suggest getting a different machine. This machine requires patience.

This serger is a workhorse! Love the quality construction, they're built to last when properly used and maintained. Threading is easy, just follow instructions. I own two of these, one for overlooking and one for coverstitching.
