I bought this monitor to do demanding image editing work while operating on a tight budget. To get more monitor, I'd have had to spend several times as much. The HP LP2065 stands out from many monitors in its price range, offering a true S-IPS panel (be careful - other companies are quietly putting cheaper panel types in their monitors even if they initially advertised S-IPS panels) along with 2 DVI and 2 VGA inputs. The monitor has the ability to rotate 90 degrees, changing the display to a vertical orientation that's perfect for portrait-orientation photo work or reading long documents / web pages without so much scrolling. I use hardware calibration tools to get my colors just right, and the monitor seems to take calibration well. Most users would be perfectly happy with the display right out of the box, and for general office/game/internet use it'd be perfectly fine with little to no adjustment. On-screen controls are easy to use without being too limited, and to top it all off the unit looks nice just sitting there even when it's turned off. Overall, this is a very good value for the price.Read full review
Very nice monitors at a great price! Same as I am using at work. Very good picture!

I use slightly older computers, Windows XP SP3, and a professional graphics program which requires that onscreen geometric shapes actually appear dimensionally square or round. For that reason, I was particularly looking for a 4:3 dimension monitor. The HP LP20695 is the best monitor I've seen for the money. The stand on which it sits is second to none. It can move in nearly any direction and makes adaptability a non-issue. I had to get VGA to DVI adapter cable, but connection was otherwise very simple. This monitor features dual DVI input for any who are interested. All onscreen calibrations are easy and user friendly. A top-notch product for the money!
As other reviewers have pointed out, this is an S-IPS monitor (I don't believe there have been complaints about units with PVA panels, lately), which is vastly better in terms of viewing angles and color shift than a "regular" (TN) panel. Add to the quality of the panel the fact that it has 2 DVI inputs and great adjustments (height, tilt, rotation) and it becomes clear why it's the best monitor you can get under $400. Of course, it's not on par with professional monitors (which start around $1000) and even the Apple Cinema might have a slightly better panel ($600, but no the height adjustment and it's wide screen, i.e. fewer pixels). To summarize, a great monitor for office work, photo editing and movie watching.
This monitor may seem a bit expensive, but compared to other S-IPS panels it is not unreasonably priced. Picture quality is good, the screen is bright, the buttons have a nice feel to them, the stand is solid and very adjustable, and the ability to use 2 digital inputs is very nice. The manufacturer provides all the cables you need to hook the monitor to two DVI-D sources, two analog VGA sources, USB, and power. One thing I did notice is that this monitor has an excessive blue cast to it. This is easily corrected in the color settings, but out of the box its 6500K color setting is bluer than my other monitor's 9300K setting!
