I have recently aquired an old wooden runabout to restore, something I have wanted to do for quite some time. I have a fair amount of wooden boat repairs under my belt from having owned a 1958 42 foot Chris Craft for 14 years and figured this should be a do-able thing. This boat although fairly complete would most likely need 80 to 90% wood replacement to complete to a sturdy and seaworthy vessel. I bought this book to find out if I might be up for the job. The book gave me a very good sense of what it will take and gave me information that will surely help me If I do decide to tackle the job. After reading the book I still think its a go as far as my abilities are concerned. I thought the book was very informative for an over all step by step, relizing that it would take a very large book to be more in depth. The book also has some nice info on resources and referances. For me this book was well worth the investment before starting a project like this, it was very informative.Read full review
