The book, "How Dogs Think", is a wonderful way to discover the reality that your canine companion lives in. Written by a Doctor of Psychology for human beings, the viewpoint is a comparative analysis. Because of the educational background and training of the author, insight into your dog's thought processes is gleaned from thoroughly documented controlled behavioral studies involving large and varied groups of study subjects. No one breed is singled out, however, some facts are apparent for particular breeds because of statistical variants in results. Not only do you get to understand the ways that studies were designed and performed, you also get to look inside your dog's mind to discover that his/her reality is very different from yours because of fundamental differences in the emphasis of different physical senses as supported by studies of their dominance in brain physiology and anatomy. This is a wonderful way to learn to communicate with your pal using the senses that s/he pays the most attention to. A delightful read!Read full review
