Obtaining a laser enhanced 1911 grip for the Hogue price made the difference between obtaining one and just wishing for one. I have been satisfied with it and have been able to increase the range at which I am comfortable with my accuracy. The unit functioned well as installed. I believe that it was properly adjusted as shipped, but I made a change to it before confirming the point of aim. Due to the NECESSARY small size of the adjustment screws and my limited close vision (old age) I had some difficulty adjusting it. I definitely would recommend verifying that it needs to be adjusted before making any changes.

While Hogue makes excellent grips, these laser grips could not be zeroed. When the included instructions tell you if you aren’t able to zero in the laser to back off the elevation and windage screws then tap on the laser, it basically is admitting they can’t guarantee their laser grips will properly work right out of the box. I like the rubberized finger grooves but if you can’t get the accurate zero I’d hate to trust my life with these. I recommend you spend the extra money and buy crimson trace. Hopefully Hogue can get the quality control issues resolved with this new product line.

This is a nice little unit
I have used my 1911 colt 45, four years I carry it as a concealed weapon or a SideArm when I'm out hunting. I saw all one of these laser grips at a shooting range. The gentleman was kind enough to let me inspect it. So I decided to purchase one. After receiving it. I was very well using a cartridge laser siting device. I was able to adjust the laser on this grip came out very nicely after shooting a few live rounds. I was extremely pleased with the outcome. The batteries are tucked away in the grip and a very nice manner. I like having the on off switch on the grip when not in use, the activation switch or the laser is in a extremely easy position for use. It just seems natural to grab the grip the grip were firing the laser is definitely on. I think the people who developed this. Hogue grip.
I have always like Hogue grips and now that made for my 1911. Being left handed, I like not having to cut off part of the safety so that they would work. Hogue has done it again. I hope that they come out with other grips with a laser for my other guns.

I love these things. They were easy to install. The batteries are inexpensive to replace when necessary. The laser is easily visible up to 25 yards even in bright light. The grip is comfortable. The laser only needed minor adjustment to be spot on. It holds its adjustment beautifully. It requires no effort to activate said laser. It is adjustable to different intensities or to blink if desired. It requires no effort to activate. I use it on the brightest setting solid because batteries are 3 bucks a pair Max. I cannot conceive of how they could make the script any better and the cost is quite reasonable.
