Often times the follow-up to a much enjoyed first in a series is a big let down. Not in Ted Bell's case. Just as in Alex Hawke's first adventure in "Hawke" you are instantly grabbed by the face and dragged right into the pages of Assassin and not let go until the very last word had been read! Ted Bell does an amazing job of combining nail biting, edge of your seat action with deep character developing as well as seamlessly integrating multiple and potentially complex plot lines. Bell has created, in Alex Hawke, a man that is both tragically human and heroically super-human! I look forward to following his adventures in "Pirate" and "Spy!"
This writer is a true artist, you get sucked into the story and don't want to put it down! If you only read one book, pick a Ted Bell novel, you WILL NOT be dissapointed. A spy thriller like no other!
I really don't care what other people think about this book. However, I'd enjoyed reading this book
To me Assassin was the best of the three Ted Bell books that I have read. I'm now reading the last of Lord Hawks adventures Spy
