If you want a stripping tool that really works this is the one. I strip allot of wire takes a little bit for set up but after that you can strip allot of wire in a short time. sure makes scraping wire allot quicker I recommend this to any one who does this in there spare time

i have two different types of this tool. The first one i bought has never had a problem and works very well to this day. this type that is being sold is not of very good quality. the mini razor blades that Home Depot and Lowes sells are too thick and get stuck in the wire cut out making you use two hands to pull the device apart. The thin slits that guides the razors into the wire get bent easy and your forced to prey them apart as they get bent. the light gauge metal body folded in half because i was putting too much pressure on it when stripping wire with a heavy plastic insulation. It still works after unfolding it. Dont get me wrong, i will be buying another of this tool to use as a backup. But only because i cant find the original type to buy again. doing scrap metal is rough work but this tool takes a light touch. go very easy and you'll do OK Read full review

Used for about a week now , I was worried that wire gauge / guide was plastic - its not . Works well for low volume and glad I bought , I am going to recommend to some friends . I plan on using the extra funds from striping wiring to buy a bigger motor driven . Had a large storage tub full of extension cords , the biggest hassle was untwisting the 3 wires after getting the outside insulation off with the stripper - not the stripper's fault .

This product is not capable of stripping wire with an outer layer of plastic sheathing, which MOST wires have. Including everything I have to scrap...hmm. It would probably cut romex residential wire well, but not standard solid or stranded AMG. Secondly, the hand grip placement make it very painful to hold for any extended amount of time. You must pinch it which as you can imagine is not comfortable or endurance friendly. For those two reasons, I absolutely do not recommend this product IF you have common AWG wire with that outer plastic layer, like most commercial electricians like myself work with like in MC or that comes on rolls. It just gets bunched up and stuck. Build quality was good, so their higher priced models may be worth looking into. But this? Hard no; try something else.

The stripper works good on small wire. Will not do larger cables. Also on plastic coated wire, the plastic coating has to be stripped first. A good product but I needed some thing for larger wire. Fun to use!!
