With all of the flashbacks and Emily's narrative as Rachel, the first half of the movie borders on bizarre. I guess that was a necessity in order to accurately portray what Rachel dealt with; trying to reconcile perception and reality. Once the 'conflict' started dictating the 'terms' of her life, and she began to face possible consequences, Rachel started to sort it all out...and THEN make more meaningful sense and decisions. Characterization played a big role, with 'true colors' eventually unfolding to wrap it all up.

This is a very cleverly done mystery where the main protagonist isn't sure whether or not she is involved in the disappearance of another woman or not. All the actors are very good. The film is shot in such a way as you think you know what's happening and then later when shown all the same information form another point of view, you find out what really happened. Very suspenseful and very well done.

Rachel, the main character, is an alcoholic experiencing blackouts. She wakes up one day, bloodied and bruised, then finds out that a woman she has been watching is missing. She doesn't remember what happened to her or if she is responsible for the missing woman. This movie is full of twists and turns, well written and well acted. You feel like you must keep watching to find out if Rachel is a murderer. To the person who said this is a boring movie - are you watching the same movie I am?
