I originally purchased this book for my daughter, who loves to draw. After reviewing the book, we both started to use it. The book is very easy to understand, and I found the drawings to be simple to follow. A very good book for the beginner, and also great for ideas. Lots of mythical creatures to draw as well, not just faeries. Very entertaining to look through.
This seems more like a storybook then a drawing book in some parts. He has another faerie drawing book and I am probably going to get it and review it and see how they compare to each other because it might be a stronger drawing book then this one was. It has some great tips on eyes and ears and stuff, but for the most part it looks like Hart is telling us about his own childhood and love of faeries instead of realizing we are trying to learn more drawing techniques from him.
Love Christopher Hart. Have around 10 of his drawing books on manga, anime, fairies, fantasy worlds, etc. I am an art teacher in an inner city school. I purchase these resource books myself because most of my students cannot afford them. They really appreciate the fact that I try to find books of interest for them.
