I purchased this to stop having spent primers fly all over my loading desk while working with my Dillon 650. The funnel is well made and excellently finished. There are no rough edges or tool marks visible. The aluminum and brass is cleanly joined and looks nice as well as being functional. It was a simple fit onto my 650. The included screws even use the same allen key that the factory cup bracket screws do. I chose this product over the others offered because it is all metal construction. It may be just my personal opinion, but I felt that it would be more durable than the plastic ones that are available from other sellers. The kit as sent included all the parts and hardware needed to mount the funnel to the press and to whatever bottle or container you are going to use to catch the primers. You only need to work out how you are going to catch the spent primers as they drop through the tube and then install whatever that is. I drilled another hole in my reloading desk beside the strong mount for my press and ran the tubing through it and into a small trashcan under the desk. I can easily say that I feel that this upgrade is worth every penny of the selling price and I am very glad I added it to my Dillon.Read full review

I purchased this in November after months of chasing primers. As a new hand loader, I thought there must be something wrong with my XL650. It was throwing primers all over my garage. After a little research, I found this issue is common. I'm not sure why Dillon wouldn't just provide this type of device as stock equipment. Nonetheless, the fitting is quite well made, the installation was very simple, and I haven't chased a primer since it's installation. Well worth the money.

The spent primer catch is made of metal and is polished to a shine. The funnel is Brass. It's supplied with longer screws to make it fit perfectly. The clamp for the tube is also nice, it's NOT your standard hose clamp that uses a screw to tighten with. It's one of those hose clamp that you would see in a car's radiator, of course a lot smaller. The hose is long enough to direct it into a bucket, garbage can or to a bottle (which a cap with a hole in it so that a the hose will fit through was supplied). You supply your own bottle what would fit the cap.

Lots of options out there for changing out your primer cup and once you've loaded a bit on a 650 you know why. I tried a few "fixes" ranging from tape to a carefully cut 308 case, tubing and a bottle. None were all that great. I chose this one since it was aluminum rather than 3d printed like others. I can't say enough about the quality, the fit and finish is impeccable, it is very well designed and it looks "factory". Remove the old blue catcher and toss it. SS allen screws are included (nice touch). I routed mine around the side of the bench. Running the included clamp inside the cap and a zip tie around the bottle allowed me to just hang it there and I loaded 2k without a spilled primer. Then I got fancy and I made a small bracket to hold the bottle. I was surprised to see that you don't need a straight drop and the spent primers flow fine even if its just barely "downhill". Overall a great upgrade!Read full review

The spent primer setup on my Dillon 650 spilled primers and the small container needed checking and emptying. This upgrade works as advertised. It was easy to fit and the instructions provided were clear and easy to follow. I now have a quart bottle on the floor under my bench, the tube reached. I have been using it for about a month and no problems, the primers all fall down into the bottle and I expect I will need to change the bottle every 6-12 months.
