Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence star In this 2010 remake of the 2007 movie by Frank Oz. After many years Rock and Lawrence are brought together for the funeral of their father. Many of the family and friends are also there to lend their support and to honor his memory. Many things take place during the day of the funeral, some are very funny some are corny and some are just not funny at all. However the movie flows along the same lines as the original as one mishap after another delays the funeral. This movie has a lot of humor that just kind of misses the mark, but there is also a lot that does hit the mark and it makes the movie very enjoyable. Some of the antics that take place could have been left out but if they had been the movie would not have been as enjoyable. The movie also stars: Owen Wilson, Danny Glover, Keith David, Loretta Devine, Peter Dinklage, Regina Hall, and Ron Glass I would rent his one instead of buying it.Read full review
Aaron is a well-mannered and hard working young man, married to Michelle, and still living at his father's home. When his father dies, it is up to Aaron, the oldest son, to organize the funeral and give the eulogy. The funeral takes place in his father's home and Aaron tries to put on an appropriate expression on his face to welcome his relatives, including his famous writer brother Ryan and his father's friends. But preserving a civil atmosphere will be a hard thing to do, especially, when from the very start, the undertaker makes a horrifying mistake. This movie has almost a scene-by-scene remake of a 2007 British movie with the same title, I think it's funnier than the original, it's due in large part to the strong cast and screenplay that makes this movie funny. Overall, "Death at a Funeral" is an excellent movie that is well worth watching if you want to have a laugh or a ton of laughs.Read full review
I absolutely love this movie....one of my top five! Get ready to laugh til you cry! A home funeral is viewed in a whole new light when drugs and sex are brought into the picture. The cast are outstanding! This a movie that you will want to watch over and over again just to catch the things you miss. My rating of 5 stars is really understated! Hope you enjoy this movie...it makes me happy!
This is a 2010 remake of the original 2007 British film directed by Frank Oz. Although I love many of the actors in this version, including Chris Rock and Danny Glover, it is simply not nearly as funny, largely because there is a mean-spiritedness throughout the film that was absent in the original. It is also considerably dumbed-down, whereas the original was intelligently written and relatively fast paced, so it suffers greatly in comparison. The best thing about this film is Peter Dinklage, who reprises his role from the original film, and turns in a great performance. Other than that, sad to say, it is a mediocre film, and you'll be better off watching the original. I don't recommend it, except for die hard fans f the actors involved, and they are not at their best here.

The best of the best comedians are in this movie. Peter Dinklage, Chris Rock, Danny Glover, Martin Lawrence, and James Marsden, was exceptional. If you've just had surgery, this is not the movie for you. You might split your incision on this one folks!
