This game was very good. If you ever played god of war then you would love this game. Myself being an XBOX360 owner now was looking for a game to substitute for having no god of war and this game did the trick hands down. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is phenomenal, and the story is very well put together. The only real complaint I have about it is that it ended to quick. As you go through the game you earn souls and with those souls you buy new moves and magic. As you level up new things become available for you to buy based on your level.(you can only go up to level 7 in holy and unholy.) These moves and magic that you buy are quite expensive especially as you go higher in the levels. By the time I had beat the game I had only had time to purchase things up to level 4 leaving soooo many moves and magic unpurchased and unused. I was very dissapointed by this. I didn't miss anything along the way as I progressed through the game like normal. Other than the minor complaint about it ending to fast I have no other complaints with it. This is an excellent game esp. for god of war lovers and it will keep you busy for a little while. My advice though, don't pay over $25 for this one or your money will feel like it hasn't cleared your checking account before you have beat it.Read full review
This is a really good game that has the potential to be great with a 2nd installment. Most people compare it to God of War because of the similar type of gameplay but I try not to. It's nice to have more games in that type of genre. This game is beautiful...wonderful graphics, sound and very freaky as you play through the different stages of hell. The game can be a little frustrating at times due to the level design but its nothing that ruined the game experience for me. I just find it to be challenging. The average gamer should be fine getting thru the game. I don't recommend you buy this for younger children or play it around your kids for that matter as it is very adult oriented. Overall, I enjoyed the game and I highly recommend if you like these type of dark gory games, especially at the bargain price you can find this on eBay :)Read full review
Dante’s Inferno has taken a bit of flak from the gaming community for borrowing a lot (and I do mean a lot) of gameplay elements from God of War. But when it’s all said and done, Dante’s Inferno is a fun experience. The journey through Hell is one worth taking. It doesn’t last a terribly long time and has some lackluster moments, but the majority of the game is a blast to fight through. Beatrice’s Crucifix is a refreshing weapon for this type of game, and from Limbo to Violence the Inferno is full of memorable, if not haunting sights. This is the perfect game for any God of War fan willing to look past some derivative gameplay mechanics. This was a button-masher and if you want actual strategic game play, it's not for you. It's a fun and highly cinematic game that offers a good 5-8 hours of play through time depending on your play style and skill level. There's the option to keep your stats and go through the story again for completion purposes, 4 difficulty levels, and an Endurance mode. If you have an Xbox 360, this game has a lot of available content ready for download via Xbox Live, although you have to pay for most of it. Be forewarned that you won't want your kids playing this game since it has a good deal of nudity. One of the circles of Hell is, indeed, "lust," so what do you expect, right? But overall, this was a fun play through, but you may want to wait until it sees some lower prices or just rent it for a weekend.Read full review
Please....if you familiar with Divine Comedy then kudos for your literary interests. This game is not really based on that. Dante's Inferno is a good game in the same vein as God Of War. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? That depends on whether you liked GoW. I, personally, loved the GoW series and my son and I played and beat all of them several times. Dante will remind you of it (which is a good thing for XBOX 360 owners as GoW is a PS3 exclusive). The story is interesting and the graphics and controls are tight (although I will claim a preference to the comfort of the PS3 Controller as I have all the systems to compare). The fact that it is an older classic now will place this game under $10.00 which is a steal. I also recommend Darksiders highly as well (other GoW 'borrower', but a fantastic game).Read full review
