Are we in present of the best album of the year? OF COURSE! a release that features Nile Rodgers (maybe the father of modern funk) and Giorgio Moroder (for sure the father of electronica)must be catalogued as it. this and that: after 8 years without full release (just TRON legacy sdtck)French duo take the command seat of the electronica and show us how this decade must be. With reminnisences of earlier 80s demolished the motto of the damn decade, and picture us a scenario of bright tunes and hyms taht will be sung during the forthcoming years. Pharell williams put his style and voice to this year´s hymns. a must to have.!
I'm not really into house or electro music so this is my first album for this genre. First impressions is that this album is very well put together in that the tracks compliment each other and there is a natural flow from one track to another. One can think back to the days, if one is old enough, of when the Beatles released their first concept album Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Band. Now as I have already said, Random Access is my first album into this type of music genre so the rest of my review will lack the correct terminology regarding house/techno/electro music; but it's the “feeling” that one gets from this, and indeed any music, that I'll try to convey. 1. Many of the tracks have good, well proportioned, bass chords/notes attributed to this music type. 2. There are some rather fine orchestral pieces intertwined, giving a trance like feel to some songs; quite surprising as I wasn't expecting this. 3. From listening to the commentary on one track there is without doubt a continental feel to the album (European) and this coveys a rather pleasant universal appeal. 4. All the tracks are punchy, very rhythmic, and well mastered. There is without doubt a lot of work put into this album, the quality and talent certainly shows through. All in all I have enjoyed listen to this album, nice tidy piece of work from Daft Punk.Read full review
Good album - some tracks are decent and sound brilliant as does usual Daft Punk stuff... Not as good as previous albums including Discovery. Maybe it will catch more as I listen a few more times...
brilliant album... very happy amazing... I would recommend this album to any daft punk fan.. brilliant quality sound
Good album, if you like their hit single "Get Lucky", you will love this album. It features loads of guest singers and a lot of disco/electronic songs.
