There were one or two spots in the instructions that could have been better written so as not to be confusing. It may take a few tries to get the programing right, but it's not to difficult. It's a real handy item to have when you're working outdoors. It works great, just like the remote clicker in your car. There's no wiring to be done, you just program in the same numbers that are shown on your garage door opener. The instructions tell you how to find the right numbers. The price on eBay was much better that the prices in retail stores.

Installed easily. Some trouble getting the base unit to accept programming from remote until I unplugged, then repowered base unit, then it programmed without difficulty. I also had a struggle deciphiring which type of unit I had per the directions, but I did find it on line (a code designating correct type has to be put in by user). Now works flawlessly.

I had to call customer service to get the right code to match my opener. They were very helpful, and we had it working pretty quickly. I like the lighted keys feature. My only complaint would be it needsa stronger catch for the front cover. Several times it has slid all the way off in my hand when lifting, or once hit the ground. No real biggy since i'm familiar with it now.

Alternate Instructions: I was replacing a Craftsman Keypad (139.53876). The garage opener is an orange/red learn button so pin number and ID #2 was to work, IT DID NOT! If you use a learn button when everything connects the opener will make a click sound and the light will blink. This would not happen. The CLICKER was a used one that someone had returned, probably could not program. After trying to program by instructions at least 10 times, (Insane Right?), I decided to play a little and try each ID number ( 9 to choose from) and my pin to see if I could connect. I know Red/Orange would not work, tried next color Purple- Nope, next was green and it connected and worked. # 4 on the ID chart. Moral of story, ON LEARN Buttons if the one you have does not work after a few tries you have 8 more Id numbers to try be fore you give up and return. Hope this helps.Read full review

At first I started getting angry because I couldn’t figure out the code. Then I went to my neighbors house and brought him back to my house. He figured out the code, once he knew how old my garage door opener was. Then before I knew it , while doing something with the sprinkler in the front yard I then heard and saw the garage door going down and then back up. I was happy 😊. Make sure that you know how old your garage door opener is before you start. Also make sure that your product aligns up with the instructions for that particular model.
