Extremely artistic and pervasively poetic in all venues of human refinement. Not only is it a great comedy but also a wonderfully romantic film. By the the end of the movie, I also had fallen in love with Sharon (played by actress Emilia Fox). A beautiful soundtrack behind a masterful creation of genius proportions--totally mesmerizing. The movie moves slowly since the majority of time (stopped time) is concentrated on Ben's (played by Sean Biggerstaff) thoughts. My attention was completely captured by a dichotomy of brilliantly composed statements concerning his condition of mind. Extremely well thought out and delivered lines of dialogue fill every nuance of the clock with meaningful intelligent conveyance of ideas and emotional expression. This is a FABULOUS film! The soft, artistic, very tasteful nudity is entirely necessary for the proper flow of ideas and meaningful execution of the plot. Suddenly a good pun for the lead actor's last name has emerged in my head. Personally, for this movie, there exists an unbridled excitement and enthusiasm without boundary. One of my top 5 favorite flicks of all time..........FANTASTIC!Read full review
The prior reviews here seem to indicate that this is a "guy film," and that just isn't the case. There are some very touching moments in the film, and the emotions are all out there (and earned). Sure, there are a few juvenile pranks, but those merely serve as foils for the sometimes depressing story of a young guy trying to get over his first real relationship in college. In the end, the film is noteworthy because it is one of the few in recent years that takes responsibility for its buildup. Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts do not get together at the end, because of some grand scheme, or a sudden epiphany where they realize what the audience could see was coming from scene 1. This film ends as it does because of the events leading up to it - not some deus ex machina's contrivance. Really, it's quite entertaining, and better yet, plausible.Read full review
The Cashback Movie on DVD, 2007 is a sci-fi kind of movie. It's a British movie and even though the actors talk in a British accent, it's not a heavy accent. A newly hired teenage grocery clerk works the midnight shift at a store that is open 24 hours and he imagines what the female shoppers shopping there looks like naked when he gets bored. There are times when I guess everyone thinks this way when they are teenagers and this movie shoots on film what people are thinking. He also imagines time standing still. There are times thoughout everyone's life that everyone wants to stop time to basically have total control of life itself. Everyone would love to stop time and this movie shoots on film what everyone is thinking. The movie is funny even for American audiences, which is rare for a British movie. Just look at the Mr. Bean movies that are just plain corny, too silly. Humor and nudity are what I remember most but there is a love story where the grocery clerk falls in love with a pretty female cashier and you have to wait until the end of the movie to find out if things work out between them. This movie along with the 1994 movie called four weddings and a funeral are the two British movies that I really like. Excellent movie overall and the extras on DVD has the actors and actresses talking about their experiences making the movie. I decided to buy it because I looked on Amazon.com and there were detailed reviews that made me think that this movie must be good. This movie came out in movie theatres and on DVD at the exact same time back in July 2007.Read full review
I really like this movie the characters are well written and played. The movie plot is unique in the sense that its a romantic comedy with a hint of scifi and real events that could happen to a young man growing up and seeing the world through his own perspective it can be relatable. It’s a fun movie with a few nude scenes, this is definitely not a movie for a child to see. But its a great date night movie or a movie you can enjoy on your own if you like to experience the movie with great attention. Watch it and enjoy it!!!

Less than a minute after watching this movie on Netflix I immediatly purchased my own DVD. As an Artist (its what I do for a living) this movie hit home, in a profound way that I've rarely felt. It draws the audience into the funny and quirky lives of everyday people, reflected in your boss, your friends, and aquantances; and weaves a tapestry into finding yourself and what beauty truly is. If you liked "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" then you will love this delicious mix of sci-fi/comedy/drama. I personally reccomend it, and guarantee you won't be disappointed. One of those movies that you'll keep for a lifetime.
