Great set of irons. I just got back from the range with them, and like others have said it's HARD to hit a bad shot with them. Straight, high, beautiful. You really have to have a BAD swing to mess it up. I have the 5i-PW, AW, SW. The 5i looks clunky, if you treat it like a regular iron, it shoots fine. NO ISSUES. I ended up getting the Uniflex version. Went back and forth with the Graphite. I tried them both out at a golf shop, and the Uniflex just worked better for me. Either way you can't go wrong. As a "new" golfer these give me much more confidence to head out to the course with friends. Nothing worse then being the "high handicapper" when all your friends are good golfers. These at least even the playing field for me. :-) Oh, and I easily saved $200 getting them on ebay vs. the local golf stores. Some INCREDIBLE deals on these clubs to be found here.Read full review
The golf clubs are great; have shaved strokes from my game. I'm more excited about the vendor, Rock Bottom Golf. I managed to order left-handed clubs (owing to a product description that sent mixed-messages), but as a righty, didn't need the added handicap. After being a little defensive, Rock Bottom authorized the return, didn't charge a restocking fee, honored the sale price, although the sale had expired, when re-ordering the RH clubs. Rock Bottom has garnered a loyal customer and I have subsequently ordered more merchandise from "Scratch".
Got my set yesterday and played in 38 degree weather since here in upstate New York its not going to get much warmer till spring. I couldn"t wait and I was not disappointed with the clubs. My distance was not as far but it's 38 degrees. They felt great and I took to them right away. I am a 10 handicap and with some more practice I may get to a single diget handicap. I would recommend these clubs in a heartbeat and they are great looking also. dagreico
Callaway 2008 Big Bertha I-brid Iron set is the best I have ever played and I have many sets of clubs. These irons get the ball up even in the tightest of lies. They are easy to swing and very hard to miss due to the extra wide sole and deep cavity back. I tried both the graphite and steel shafts but found steel more to my liking. I do not see anything on the market even close to these irons so I will have them for a while.
I had just purchased these clubs a month ago. I first noticed how fast I can swing the clubs because of the lightweight graphite shafts. The wide soles prevent me from digging into the ground. They are classified as " GAME IMPROVEMENT CLUBS". I do hit further with these clubs than I did with my "845's", but I have to get used to them to get the same accuracy.I rated them good for I have not used them long enough. PM
