Playing Bubsy about 7 years ago, there is definately a similarity in this game and Crash Bandicoot. Of course, Bubsy was on the market years before Crash, however, a classic never dies. It seems being older now it isn't quite the same or as entertaining, but it was definately worth the bargain I received for it. The game seems to have some inconsistancies, some of the enemies seem impossible to jump over, but what can you expect for a game that was developed in the 90's. Overall, the game is a great classic for sega gamers.
While not close to Sonic in any way, Bubsy is a fun game that never received much respect. The momentum-influenced control takes a little getting used to, and as with Aero The Acrobat, the 'speed up as you run mechanic' feels out of place and seems like a needless rip-off of Sonic. You will also die very frequently, due to enemy projectiles fired from off screen, and blind jumps that result in death by spikes, but overall this really is a fun game. I've always enjoyed it and do recommend it, but be warned!
This was a game that my wife played before and loves it. The graphics are good for the time period.

The game is pretty fun, and the levels load faster than the SNES version.
