I got this from Ebay music. 5.00 Good value if you like the music. Anybody that has any kind of rock- jazz inclination should appreciate this. Originally released in 1975 as a Vinyl album Blow by Blow and Wired the next year stand as 2 of Becks most important contributions to the Fusion movement happening at the time. Careful blend of electric and jazz sounds. Last recording with Max Middleton who lends himself well to the tight structure of the tunes. Its not hiphop and its not pop. So todays younger listeners or those that require vocals will probably not appreciate it. This is the best recording by Jeff in my opinion. This album is responsible for jumping the tracks from Aero Smith, Frampton and Boston at the time to Herbie Hancock funk and Wayne Shorter and all things Jazz

This is the DEFINITIVE instrumental-rock album. The highest selling instrumental rock album of ALL TIME. Why? Because Jeff Beck is the most consistently raunchy, innovative and skilled guitarists to ever live and the most beloved for pure instrumental expression. This album was somehow not considered purely instrumental due to the use of an air-bag on the Beatles classic, "She's A Woman" which blends speaking or singing with guitar through a connecting tube during performance. The Air-bag was introduced to rock by Beck and made most famous by Peter Frampton on "Do You Feel Like I do" and "Show Me The Way". Still, most historians consider this record purely instrumental but to cement Beck's instrumental rock mastery, the second highest selling rock instrumental record is Beck's own "Wired" which you should buy as well RIGHT AWAY! Guitarists beware! You may wish to consider a new profession.Read full review
May be I am growing. Thing is Mr, Beck is amazing. He never 'caught' my ear. So I only have one other recording. To me he abuses the wammy bar, and has a lack of dynamic range. The compressed volume coupled with his style of phrasing puts me to sleep. Therefore I listen to him in increments. His master full skill and dedication are evident. Try Robbin Ford. Give me Magic Slim!!!! Chris

If you are a guitar player or a fan of guitar, then this is a "must have" CD. Jeff Beck is on fire throughout the entire album, the other musicians are all monsters, and the production is superb (George Martin, who produced almost all of the Beatles recordings produced it). And if you like this one, you're gonna want to buy the "Wired" CD by Jeff Beck as well. Both these CDs trancend time and space with their fusion of Rock and Jazz styles of playing, although more Rock than Jazz. Make sure you get one of the recent re-mastered CDs as they sound much better than the earlier release.
I bought the CD for one particular song, Freeway Jam, & it was worth the money for that song. The rest of the CD U would rate a 6
