This is a great Blackberry device for the Verizon network. Keyboard is easy to use, after you've gotten used to it - especially if you were a touch screen user. Blackberry App world could be better and easier to use but it still offers some nice applications. The Bold 9650 would have to be one of the more higher end Blackberry devices you can get. Nice speeds and little to none freeze ups. If you're looking for a business email phone this would be a very good choice. Emails are received very quickly - sometimes faster than on my computer. Battery life isn't too bad. I previously had the HTC Incredible and that battery barely lasted a day. My Bold 9650 lasts me well through a day if not through a second day. I would recommend a car charger for those on the go - check out the Motorola charger with the blue logo. I've had my phone for about 6 months now and have had no major problems with it. If you have Verizon and are looking to get a nice functional/professional smartphone that has great email capabilities, you might want to look into the Bold 9650.Read full review
The Blackberry BOLD 9650 I needed a smartphone that was inexpensive, that could multitask and satisfy my needs for entertainmaint, communication and work on the go. The BOLD 9650 meets this expectation and more. With its BB Messenger, Email, Facebook access, MSN & Yahoo IM clients, intigrated Media Player, 3.2 Mp Camera, Web browser, Calendar,Youtube video streaming, Editiing and creating office docs, Wifi, Bluetooth and 3G data capabilities this device became an essential part of my life; keeping me connected and assisting in my daily activities. Pros Bright beautiful display. Decent 3.2MP Camera Good word processing capabilities. Smooth Social Client integration. Fast reliable 3G data access. Media player- watch movies on those long bus rides. Email access is satisfactory! Cons Slow dated web browser Sub-par battery life Buggy and sluggish OS Bulky design New OS6 interface too compolicated for a new user Smartphone user. Compared to other competing smartphones in terms of features the BOLD 9650 holds its own however in terms of performance and ease of use this RIM Blackberry device falls below the bar. RIm could have doen alot more to improve on our USER experience. However if you are an existing BB owner willing to look pass these small quirks then this is the upgrade for you.Read full review
I am a huge Blackberry fan. I have owned this phone more than once and also many other blackberry phones. I currently have an iphone, but I ordered this one because I miss my blackberry! The 9650 is great because it has plenty of memory for apps, can take a large micro SD card for storing other things such as pics and music, and the camera has a flash. Also, this phone can run BB OS6 which is great! Also the battery life is excellent compared to iphone and android phones. Only things I would change about this phone is maybe a little better camera but that is about it. It's nice that it has a physical keyboard too.
When we hear the word Bold on the BlackBerry Market we think: Performance! This is not the case with BlackBerry Bold 9650. First, this device features BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 and it does well running apps, games, themes and browsing but not as good as the others Bold. Sometime we can hear that this is the same as 9700 but this is not true, 9650 has only 524Mhz and 9700 has 624Mhz of CPU speed, so the 9700 wins! The good thing of this phone is the RAM, which is 512MB making it the same as the Torch 9800 or even Bold 9780 but RAM is not all, to keep our phone running pretty well a fast CPU is needed. Anyway, let's move to another apartment. Device Software 5.0 runs fast, excellent and very responsible. Don't do the error of upgrade to 6.0 or you will experiment one of the slowest BlackBerry devices. Including some games for entertainment like Sudoku, Solitary, Texas Poker, WordMole and BrickBreaker you can spend hours of fun when you don't have nothing to do. Other Software included with the phone is the Docs to Go trial and BBM. No preinstalled software like facebook, twitter or myspace is present but you can easily download them via OTA. Mines comes with an 3.2MPx camera with flash but BE AWARE there are an BOLD 9650 version that comes without Camera. Features WiFi, GPS and the optical trackpad for better movement trough menu and apps. Overall I would state this device a 4 of 5 because its CPU makes it slow when upgrading the device software. Thanks, God blessRead full review
The BlackBerry is fantastic. I prefer touch phones, just as a personal preference, but it arrived quickly and in great condition. It works well. The internet is a tad slow (browser) , but it's fine. The new software is really convenient. It's a good phone for those who prefer smart phones, but don't want a touch screen. The battery is decent once you learn how to shut down applications and such. I wouldn't say it was worth the almost $200 I spent on it online, but I was desperate for a phone. I'm still happy with my purchase after having it for a few weeks.
