I own several of the Black and Decker series books. They are all relatively good, and this is no exception. This is a good start- not a whole lot for new construction though. I would have been happier with less description of building materials and more examples of projects and more on new construction. Overall, a good book though. My main problem with this series is that at times the info is VERY elementary, and at other times you can hardly figure out the techniques they describe. Especially good when combined with a small bit of prior knowledge.
Great book. I'm taking a electrical course and we use this book in class. Very happy with it.

I am not an electrician, but I do know basics of wiring. I bought this book for help with wiring on a new home. After reading, I am much more knowledgeable and confident that I can do it. I feel this book does cover all aspects of wiring a house and does it well. For the price it is an excellent investment even for just minor repair projects. A single small repair project that avoids a call to electrician will more than pay for the book.
I bought this book because of an engineer I work with. He said that he did extensive research to find the best electrical wiring book and he ended up buying this one and recommended it to me. After buying the book for myself I have found it to be great and very detailed with lots of pictures. Great book and I would highly recommend it.
