Compelling?
The "compelling" question above is nonsensical when reviewing a cookbook IMO. The recipes in this book are good ones, solid performers with proven techniques that all cooks can use and enjoy. No eye of newt or other exotica, just practical and tasty dishes that can be enjoyed often. I have most of Ina's books and this one is a keeper.

This book is not in “very good “ condition as advertised. It has a horrible smell that caused my eyes to sting and water, and also caused coughing for a long time after closing the book. Don’t know if it is permeated with mold? Should not have been sold! I would not even feel comfortable donating it !

Title is very accurate -- recipes look very easy.
I saw a recipe online from this cookbooks that looked very easy and tasty. I of course came straight to ebay and bid on it as a gift for a friend. I have since purchased another for myself! In looking through the book, my first reaction was "yeah! she has cocktail recipes in here as well!". Secondly, the recipes seems to call for items you will already have in your pantry -- nothing so fancy you need to order online just to make a dish once. The recipes seem easy, there are menu ideas, cocktails (very important) and other tips as well. I look forward to getting my own copy of the book and spending more time looking through it, cooking from it, and enjoying some new food ideas.

awesome cookbook and very well illustrated.
I watch Ina Garten (The Barefoot Contessa)on the food channel all the time. I enjoy watching her as she works with such ease and has so much fun doing it. I love to cook and practice on my friends and husband when time allows me to. I have purchased all 7 of her cookbooks and I am awaiting for number 8 to come out. She is such an inspiration and I love to share the cookbooks with my friends. I hope anyone who has purchased the cookbooks has had as much fun as I have using them. I also like the way she gives substitutes for other variations. Happy cooking.

Awesome book!
I decided to buy this book when my sister made us the delicious Panko salmon dinner. I was hooked! I have since then made the meal twice and my husband loved it! Of course, there are many other receipes I can't wait to try. What I like about her receipes is that they are all very easy to make and don't take a whole of ingredients, most of which I already had at home. And I love the colored pictures that go along with the receipes. Great book, well worth buying!
