I've used this laptop everyday since it arrived. It was easy to set up and use. I'm not real tech savvy so this unit was for ME! It came with a lot of good features. Color and screen definition are excellent for a small unit. It was connected to a wireless printer and that is used often. Good value for the $$$$$. The sound is not very loud even turned up all the way so listening to music on this unit is not ideal. I connected a wireless mouse because I prefer it to the touch pad and sometimes there is a delay in changing screens whether I use the pad or mouse. I haven't figured out why there is a delay. Other than that I have no complaints so far.

Pros: - Light - Decent screen - Decent keyboard for chicklet keys - Can run various programming IDEs flawlessly - Superb work machine; Microsoft Office suite programs run perfectly - Great battery life - Bluetooth support - Decent multi-touch touchpad - ASUS limits the amount of bloatware they preinstall Cons: - 2gb DDR3 RAM; no reason when RAM is cheap and we live in a world where more and more websites are being overloaded with javascript - 32gb total storage, ~17gb effective with OS+ASUSware installed - Varying Youtube playback quality - Poor Linux support - Easy to scuff and dirty the casing - EVERYTHING is soldered onto the board; once the X205TA starts to go, there's no saving it Sidenotes: Surprisingly poor old/light game support for when you need a break. Games like Stronghold (2001) and FTL (2012) are fine, One Way Heroics (2012) and Quake 2 (1997) are not. Game Boy (Advance) and (S)NES emulation work fine, haven't tested N64 or PS1 emulation but they probably don't work as well in comparison. Rouguelikes vary; Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup and Brouge run perfectly while Tales of Maj'Eyal and the ADOM remake feel like they have framerate issues Two USB 2.0 ports. This is a dealbreaker for some people. You might want to snag a microHDMI cable or one of those microHDMI to [x] port converters if you want to project onto another screen, too. The headphone jack is a headphone/microphone combo jack, so your smartphone earbuds will work just fine. The X205TA has a microSD card slot; haven't tested anything above 32gb microSD cards but it's easy to overcome some storage limitations with one. It would have been great if 64gb was default for the onboard eMMC storage instead of the stranglehold 32gb. The arrow keys are tiny and the up/down ones are squished together. It's not unlivable and doesn't take too much getting used to, and PgUp/Down are there as well via the function key, but it's definitely an "eh" trend among laptops in general, not just the X205TA. Conclusion: It does what I need it to and does it well. Very flexible, portable, and powerful for the price point. Has its cons, but nothing's perfect. Don't look at this as anything more than a portable work/internet/Netflix machine if you aren't computer savvy.Read full review

I bought two of these ASUS x205ta netbooks. One for myself and another for a client of mine. Overall, I would say it was a good purchase. I will say the one thing I did not like up front, then I will say all of the good stuff. Con: - While the ASUS x205ta DOES come with an Intel Atom CPU that is 64-bit, the OS, drivers, and software installed on the laptop when I took it out of the box was all 32-bit. I noticed both of my netbooks had Windows 10 Home 32-bit. And when I went to the ASUS website to see if they offered 64-bit drivers for the netbook's hardware they DID NOT. :( Pros: + Now, even though the OS is 32-bit Windows 10 Home, it runs totally fine. And with only 2 gigs of RAM, perhaps needing a 64-bit OS isn't really necessary. I have had no issues with lag or slow speed yet. + Web Browsing, MS Office, Playing Music/Videos, and Remote Desktop all run smooth and fine. + The battery life is AMAAAAAZZZIIIINGGGG!!!! It's no joke when they say 12 hours, sometimes it can last beyond 12 hours on a full charge. + I like that the fact that the netbook accepts external MicroSD storage. That's genius, and this definitely seems like the future. I bought a 128 GB Class 10 USH 1 card for it. + The exterior finish is beautiful - a really smooth matte. It feels great and looks great. + The weight is pretty light. Not the lightest netbook ever, but the weight is just right in my opinion. + Touch-pad is nice and big and it has very nice crisp clicks. + The keyboard has a very nice feel to it. The keys are all just the right size. I like that it includes the "right-click" button. + 1 free year subscription to Office 365. So in other words you get Office 2016 Full (for a year). Other thoughts: I will say that it is very likely you will fill up your 32GB of internal storage pretty fast. Keep in mind, Windows 10 and MS Office will already eat up some of that space. However, since the laptop accepts MicroSDs it's very easy to get more storage.Read full review

It is light weight, fast, battery life is unbelievable. It fits in my brief case with no problem and doesn't take up much space. The purchase price was very affordable. Overall, I am glad I purchased this computer. Would consider buying another one if I need it.
