"Sweet Honey in the Rock" consists of musical performance artists: Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon, Evelyn Maria Harris, Ysaye Maria Branwell, Aisha Kahil & Nitanju Bolande Casel. Their unique style of singing & performance is distinctly African-American. Their costumes are culturally distinct & lavishly colorful. Dr. Johnson Reagon has been the leader & song writer of the group, until very recently. She is also the founding curator of the Smithsonian's African-American History Museum.
