Boss DS-1 distortion guitar effect
Although a new pedal was only 20.00 more, this slightly used pedal was in brand new condition.
When I added it to my pedal board I was very impressed with the sound quality. This was a very good purchase for me.

Better tone by far - worth it!
I've been building a new stompbox pedalboard and I happened to see the AnalogMan modded DS-1 on ebay hours after I ordered a brand new stock DS-1. As soon as the AnalogMan arrived I did a side by side comparison and the modded version won hands down, no question. Far better tone, quieter, and touched by the magic of Analog Mike. It made the stock DS-1, which is not a "bad" sounding distortion, sound thin and cheesy by comparison. This pedal will always be on my board, right next to my AnalogMan King of Tone (another killer tone machine).

The best distoration pedal.
If your looking to get a distortion pedal just get the boss DS-1 its just your workhorse distoration pedal. I've had and used a lot of distortion pedals. like the big muff pedal or even mxr pedals are expensive and to me they don't sound as good. But I love this pedal the boss DS-1, its like if your going get a microphone then get the shure sm 58 ever one uses it its a workhorse mic, and so is the DS-1 boss distortion pedal. I've recorded in a lot of studios and the pedal that they have for you to use usually is this pedal the DS-1 boss. So what does that mean well the studio engineer knows that the DS-1 can stand the abuse of being used constantly everyday.

Experience with DS-1
I owned one of the very original ones ! These aer/were the venerable units used by the tops in the profession! Vai, Satch, Petrucci, etc. It's was wonderfully colorless so I dialed it to use as a boost for solos and could raise the gain a bit more for extra chunk on certain backing tracks!
This is a most versatile unit and it has good reason for its popularity!!
P.S. for some reason the $ has gone up on these while the newer DS-1 have dropped in quality? This issue alone gives me great trepidation for purchase, I'd shoot for a deal from eBay.

Classic distortion pedal, doesn't disappoint!
The classic distortion sound, a must have pedal. The early ones perhaps sound a little dirtier. Finding one as good as this was great, with its original box and paperwork, it was an easy decision to purchase. Try one and judge for yourself!
