I decided to purchase this book because I am a poker amateur who is interested in learning as much about the game as possible. Phil Hellmuth is an 11-time WSOP bracelet winner and one of my personal favorites. "Bad Beats and Lucky Draws" is a compilation of some of poker's greats getting "sucked out" on for a bad beat told from Phil's point of view. Phil breaks the hand down careful not to miss any details. Then, Phil breaks down the betting and explains whether he liked or disliked someone's play and why. There are a few pictures along the way of some famous poker faces which are really neat. Also, you'll pick up some strategy tips from the text which will help any amateur poker player. Enjoy and good luck at the tables.
This book is just fun. It has so many great stories from Hellmuth, and I'm sure it's just the tip of the iceberg. It's really cool because he goes back to his days from Madison, WI (which is where I live). An excellent read that teaches as well as entertains.
I thought that the stories were great. The hand by hand description takes you into the minds of some of the greatest players in the world. This is a great read for all poker players, beginner or professional.
