I installed one of these Predators on my 1971 Ariens Sno-Thro after my 43 year old Tecumseh blew. I got the engine for $99 but you can get them even cheaper sometimes. Very easy to install. The shaft was the exact same size and length as my Tecumseh and at the exact same height on engine. The mounting holes for the belt cover also lined up directly. I was even able to hook up my old Throttle cable, something most new engines for snowblowers don't have. The engine has a cast Iron bore, compression release and is a breeze to start, one easy pull. It has a low oil shut down sensor, metal fuel tank with screen and a fuel shut off valve. This engine added twice the amount of power my old Tecumseh H70, 7 HP engine put out. The snow blower powered thru snow like never before and threw it farther then ever. About 40 feet! It's been on my snowblower to winters and I didn't give it, its first oil change until after 20 hours! No particles. Changed the oil. Runs like a champ, very reliable and I paid $100 bucks. A brand new Old stock Tecumseh would have been $350 more at about $450. Same thing with a Briggs if not more and Briggs builds in China now anyway. Why pay $350 more for a name when you get the same result for $100? Highly recommended excellent line of engines!Read full review

I bought one of these engines , after running a predator generator powered by same engine. Mfg..but 13hp. RAN THAT ENGINE 3 WEEKS NONSTOP DAY&NIGHT ....SUPER STORM SANDY.......SO IM SOLD.......Put the 8hp on my log splitter to replace failed briggs&stratton . These engines are the Best Bang for the Buck, they are smooth, start on the first pull ...and I can buy three.........for less then what One Briggs would cost and folk's Briggs is now made in China too, So your paying the extra dollars for a American name Label.........These engines are Honda Clone's ...... and I love how easy they start and cost on the pocket, I run mine on aviation gas mixed with 2cycle oil just to bring the octane down and not have issues with ethanol, fuel stabilizer is BS... I have used it before and still had problems with corroded carbs. This works for me and I dont mind paying more for fuel not to have headache's with my power equiptment engines.Read full review
