This processor is great upgrade for Lenovo T60 as it is the fastest you can fit in to this laptop. Just don't expect magic as this is a 10 y.o. laptop and it would not make a rocket. However you can notice significant improvement especially if you also fit SSD drive as an upgrade (this will improve your laptop speed about 2 ... 3x). I've upgraded 2 T60 laptops from 1.83GHz to 2.33 and it is a bit faster with some tasks. Before I was watching YouTube videos on 480p and now on 720p. You get also 2x more CASH in this processor and ability to run 64Bit system (you need to do fresh installation - upgrade from CD doesn't work) One think - CPU comes with thermal paste but for me seems cheep so I've used Thermal Grizzly Krayonaut. 1g of that paste is enough to do it 6 or more times. Switching from 32 to 64bit system should give you another 10 - 25% speed improvement. I have compared upgraded T60 with cheep, modern laptops on HDD and T60 is way faster ! All upgrades (SSD drive, 2.33GHz processor, good thermal paste) shouldn't cost you more than 150GPB ( I've installed 250 and 500GB SSD's - one each T60) and it brings a new life. Now Laptops are pleasant to use and no need to wait ages for every simple tasks like web browser, opening PDF's or MS Word ... etc. Takes about 20 - 30 sec from pushing power baton to fully opened Windows you can work on.Read full review

I don't know if the processor worked or not. I installed the new processor in an iMac 2006, but have not been able to get anything to work. Prior to installation, the iMac worked, but the processor swap was so involved that many things could have gone wrong. I am basically junking the iMac because it's a tedious process to swap parts.

This is a cpu made by Intel in 2007 as an upgrade to laptops build around 2006-08 . So if you bought your laptop around that time , and you are not satisfied with your CPU performance and want an upgrade this might be the perfect one for you . However you must first check: 1) Your motherboard socket to be Socket M / Socket mPGA478MT . PGA stands for Pin Grid Array where as BGA stands for Ball Grid Array . That means PGA has pins and can be upgraded easy , where as BGA needs trained personnel . 2) Your motherboards Revision and BIOS compatibility . Considering this was the latest ( and greatest ) CPU for this socket , try verifying that other people have installed it and it worked . So after you have verified that you can install this CPU , there is only one question remaining . Is it worth it ? Well it depends . After some testing around I have come to the following conclusion . If you have a low performing CPU , like a T2400 that does not even support 64-bit and has only 2mb cache , than you will probably notice the speed gain . However if you already have a T7xx like a T7200 (that is dirt cheap by the way) , than its probably not worth it . I will give this product 4/5 stars , because even in 2015 it costs 40$ or more . And that a bit too steep for a ~7 years old laptop upgrade . On the other hand , in some cases its worth it .Read full review
After receiving my actual order somehow the chip wouldn't power or function. After clearly looking at carefully I noticed a small pin was missing on the far right corner of the processor.Maybe that's the reason it didn't work. However the seller shipped me a replacement at no cost.I can honestly say that I'm very thankful and satisfied with dealing with the merchant.I will give him a great review solely because of his great customer service and that he answered my messages very fast and on time.Great merchant ,and great business . Now my dell machine is working way better and utilizing the extra ponnies to do my music files while being productive at the same time. T7600 INTEL 2.33 ghz processor is supreme.Great upgrade to a pre-existing laptop.

The processor will give a little more pep to your laptop over the 7200, but not much. The installation of it was much greater and time consuming since you had to take a part the computer and many things to get to it. The Ram and SSD Drive make the difference, but for the cost it was a good buy.
