First, the SM-T217S shares a shell, battery, and screen with the T210, which is the common Samsung Tab 3. The circuitboard and chips, as well as the particular build of android (JellyBean, later Kitkat) is based on the more advanced Samsung S4 mini. The processor and RAM are faster than a regular Tab 3. In "Car talk," its a sleeper. My only complaint about the Tab3 7.0 is the lack of a high res screen (it is 1024x600). If this is your first tablet, you will not notice until you use an Ipad Air or something HD. The rest of the design is really solid. The battery held up for 2 years of solid use. I never used the universal remote feature. Ever. The sound is really good for this size device. (not great compared to my laptop) The primary chips and charger port support MHL but Samsung omitted other bits, so no MHL support at the hardware level. The bluetooth functions (great) like a cell phone and you can make VOIP app calls. Some will require a cool little app called Mono Bluetooth Router. The screen is braced with a "midplate" making the tablet a bit heavier but it protects it well. Put it in a $5 silicon wrap and you are good. This device falls into the S4 family, comes with a 2.1A charger, and does high speed charge. Still takes 2+ hours for the large battery. The weakness that killed my SM-T217S was in the 3-way charge control on the motherboard. Many parts are separated from the mainboard, but the Charge port and power stepping circuits there are NOT. When you ruin the port you need a professional to repair the board. In my case, though, the chips that handle the power cracked (near the port). The worst case is to play games (high power) while recharging the battery, and I did that a lot. For 20 cents Samsung could improve the power handling part of the mainboard, and they should on any high end or gaming device. At least, always make it connected for separate replacement. This failure happens from S2-S4 series and I don't know about the newer ones. The charge port and charge circuits are the weakest spot of the design.. and still lasted 2000 hrs of use. I did use a flip open case, and my Tab3 (SM-T217S) still looks new after 2 years of solid use. Compares favorably to Apple and LG devices. Recommended highly! Read full review

As in the description, it says 16gb, but when I received it, it says that it's only 8gb. So far my child like it, the battery life is good. The charger doesn't work for the tablet so i use my phone charger to give it power. I was sceptical about it at first, but honestly I should have just followed my mind and buy it from the store here.y child wanted a 16gb tablet, which was why I bought this one, but I'm really disappointed that it's only 8gb. I think the seller needs to be more truthful about the product that their advertising.

For the price this was a good deal, although the battery leaves a lot to be desired. It only lasts a few hours before it reaches critical status and goes belly up. But this was a rehab so you get what you pay for. I bought it for my wife. a senior, who's computer learning curve is rather steep. So it being the kids version was ideal. The software is user friendly and seems to do the basics that she needs to do on a tablet while traveling and in a medical office. It does the basics that a tablet should do for the price I paid. I would not pay the price for a new one though due to its limitations and low battery life. But for occasional use I would recommend this tablet if you can get it for a decent price. My only complaint is the batter and it is not user friendly to replace. You can buy a kit on like that gives you the tools and the battery to do it yourself. But you have to be very careful servicing this yourself since once slip of the hand and you will crack the screen. So beware of the battery life if you buy used or a refurb.Read full review

This is a great Tablet. I suggest getting this tab over any because of the simplicity. You can download any app you want. The only thing I would change is the device should have a front camera as well. I love taking pics with my kids, and that feature is really important to me. Other than that...I love it! Speaker is great; the tab isn't too touchy; durable to a point, and so comfortable to swype with. I have severe Carpal Tunnel and this Tab is better to use than the phone. LOVE IT!
The tablet is very nice. It looks like it is brand new. My grandson really likes it.
