This is a good quality extractor at a reasonable price. That said it is not a drop in replacement part, all 1911 extractors need tuned to the gun and this was no different. It was easy to adjust for reliable extraction and ejection,so far it has not needed to be readjusted after several hundred rounds .

Installed this extractor (bought two), took the 1911 to the range, zero issues. This is a very good buy and I bought two so that I would have a spare in my parts kit; recommend you do the same!

Product seems well built. Installation needs minor prep work and tension tuning just a few minutes. Check tension and hand cycling after and it pass. I was able to do live firing using 300 rounds and not encoutered any failure or jams anymore. Before installing this extractor my 1911 commander will fail to extract every 1 or 2 shots..and no amount of prep work and tuning could fix. i also change the firing pin stop at the same time to get a better tight fit install. i was able to fire 300 rounds of assorted ammo ....i did that on purpose just to see if it will fail....it pass with flying color.....i even try rapid fire several times. I would recommed this product with a note. Buy only if you know how to prep and adjust proper tension.....or have it installed by a gunsmith.

It fit perfectly, after spending a couple hours trying to find out why the top end I got from Hooper Guns Works would not assemble, I finally decided that it was a poorly constructed extractor. So I replaced it with this one and assembled the slide in about 2 minutes
