I was swapping out the body on my 95 4x4 Blazer with a 82 Subaru Brat body and needed a way to precisely control repeated lifting of the body while working out the fitment. I took a chance and ordered two Speedway 2-ton chain hoist, one to lift the front and one to lift the rear. One of them worked great right out of the box but the other got hung up - it stuck and seemed to jam while lifting. Well, that's about right for a bargain priced tool, but upon closer inspection I saw where the lifting chain had gotten twisted either in shipping or installation. I untwisted the chain and 30 seconds later I had two really nice smooth chain hoist! I have raised and lower the Subaru body countless times - the hoist lift the weight easily and hold it stead without moving or slipping. Two thumbs up Speedway!Read full review

Bought this specifically to do a frame swap on an older Jeep CJ. Last hoist that I owned said 2 ton and felt like it when I tried to put it up. This was a lot lighter yet every bit as capable. I am pleased. Just be sure to clean chains before using. Whatever the coating is it gets your hands totally black.

The drop part of the lift chain was hung in the side of the guide due to shipping and packaging. It took me a screwdriver to pry it our but once it came loose it worked great. I will be lifting a 2200LB load soon. I will update once that happens...to be continued...
