neck needs to be set looks like iut was never played just sat somewhere in a closet since 2006. The custom gold 2006 Les Paul Pro Standard, plating doesn't have one blemish or pit like they get when you sweat on them. Neck is wonderful thin curve that has that late 50's early 60's feel with no fret buzz which I am so used to I kinda miss it. Really clean and magnificent cherry high gloss; so beautiful I forget how heavy the thing is. The guitar is high profile I give it a 5 ***** rating

I've played about every model of les paul ever made, standards, classics, custom shops, historics, and these standard faded models are among the best. Exquisite in their tone and feel. The lack of a thick glossy finish allows the instrument to resonate like no other. If you love les pauls like I do, do yourself a favor and try a les paul standard faded.

(non chambered, maple top, 60's neck type, gibson deluxe tuners, tune o matic and stop bar) This is my first Gibson (I owned an Epiphone SG..). This guitar gives to the guitarist what he waits for; Tone, sustain, fast and easy playing and a nice piece of wood to show off :) 'wow, what a guitar!' If you're more on acoustic or spontaneous playing, you might prefer the strat type guitars which are, imho, the best 'soul speakers'. One wrong point (I won't talk about the weight)? The single cut... I've been playing Stratocaster and Ibanez guitars for a while and.. I really miss the DC (double cut) thing, even more than with the Telecaster! About the neck: be sure to try, test and play both neck types before any decision. I really do prefer the flat 60's neck (remember I'm a strato player). I know some of my buddies (with long fingers or not) prefer the C shaped type... the one you find on original Gibson models. My best guitar ever (not the cheapest I must say). Enjoy!Read full review
the gibson les paul is a must for any guitar player. with the new electric features; coil taps, out of phase and pure(full throttle) this industry standard is more versatile than ever.ive played some great les pauls over the years that were just too darn heavy! some people dont like the modern weight releif but my shoulders and back welcome it greatly. it seems to have a slightly more snappy tone also(think tele).a big winner!
This guitar rocks, it plays like butter, sound is awesome, wish I had purchased one many years ago now
