Polaris 65
I have owned three other Polaris 65's before. They work extremely well for the first three weeks then become lazy. The develope one of three things is wrong. The top hose has developed a "memory". Disconnect from surface unit and stretch it out in the sun for several days. Backwash your filter. Make sure the inline filter/strainer is clean. The Polaris only has two moving parts that go bad. 1. The piston 2. The propulsion tube. The only other thing that goes bad is the hull or base develops holes which can be found by removing the front "plug" and blowing air into the base. Don't be aggressive with the air. If you use to much pressure for to long you can blow the base apart. I have had 3 of these in the last 7 years. after 2 years the piston wears out and can be replaced and the top hose will start splitting and leaking. When it works it works really good. I had a 18ft pool and just recently upgraded to a 24ft. So I bought my 3rd Polaris 65 the thing would not work correctly with the top hose cut to the size that the instruction recommends. I put the hose for the 18ft pool and it worked fine, but not long enough to clean the entire pool. I was able to cut the new hose down a few feet and it seems to be ok for now. I would recommend it for pools 20ft and below but not for the larger pools because the forward to reverse changes to fast to make it work for larger pools. Its not a bad value but for the price I would like to see it last longer. It still is ... Polaris 65 Pool Cleaner
This pool cleaner comes with all of the parts and attachments to install item. I was able to get this item at a great discount. My pump was not strong enough to run this cleaner, so I upgraded my pump, and now I use this Polaris daily. It sweeps the bottom of the pool. Polaris sells cleaners for above ground pools and underground pools. They charge alot more for an underground pool cleaner, but I was able to connect this to my underground pool, and it works great. It saves me alot of time and energy by not having to manually sweep the bottom and sides of the pool, and keeps all the debris out of the pool. I have trees around the pool that drop lots of leaves into my pool. I now hook up my Polaris, and just forget about it all day, then empty the bag and its ready to go. It also does not ... When I received this product it did not work. I had to take it apart to discover that the internal mechanism that work the ability to direct the flow of water in different directions was a type of piston that pumps back and forth. In this case the piston is made up of two plastic cylinders that should be pressed into each other to create the piston. The two cylinders were not attached. For $200 I expect not to have problems like this. Fixing it entailed taking the entire thing apart to discover how it worked then fixing it and putting it together correctly again. All the pieces are plastic and easy to break or strip adding to the tension. The product when working works amazingly well but I am sure a lot of people returned or threw it away.When I received this product it did not work. Keeps pool bottom clean!
I got one when I first got a pool over twenty years ago. It worked for over 15 years until my above ground pool finally bit the dust. We then moved but my polaris was broken in the move and unfixable, so I bought a new pool and a new Polaris.. However to buy one locally was way more than I expected and since I have had such great results with purchasing many big ticket items on Ebay, that's what I did and I couldn't be happier. It came in earlier than I expected and in perfect shape and it was reasonable. I would highly recommend this seller and this product to anyone.
