So what everyone who hasn't watched this show thinks this is a rip off of Sherlock and I won't deny that it is a cash grab after the success of sherlock however unlike most rip offs it makes its own story rather than making it similar to sherlock. The first big difference you can see in the cover is that Watson is played by a woman and this is the first time such a feat has ever been done. To quell anyone's fears they are love interests no they are not not even slightly. Moriarity is also played by a woman and has her own distinct personality in the series. That is one of the strengths of the show is strong female characters many of whom can outsmart sherlock that makes it seem credible not just trying to appease a female fanbase. Sherlock also is recovering from addiction during most of the series and it is his struggle to not relapse over the course of the series. Watson who is first holmes sober companion then detective still has to watch out for this. The cases in and of themselves are absolutely brilliant. One or two will be based on actual sherlock holmes cases but will be obscure to the average person. They are very brilliant and try as I might to beat sherlock to it they are so intricate that I cannot figure it out until its too late which I always enjoy. My problem with the dvd case or at least in mine some of the holes that are supposed to hold the dvds in place you would be able to move around or they come loose in the case allowing them to get scratched during transport though all of my disks compare to work. While it is not better than Sherlock it has earned its own place on t.v in its own right and does not deserve to be called a rip off when they have made a lot of risks in making the show what it is and would have been over. By the time of me writing this review I have only finished the first season however that being said it is still worth watching.Read full review

One of the best shows on TV! Missed the first couple of episodes which gives background and basis for the relationship between Sherlock & Watson. Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu have a chemistry between them that plays out in every episode in the portrayal of their characters. Sherlock is good for Watson and Watson is good for Sherlock. One can experience the growth of this relationship between them and the other characters in the show with every episode. I watch these repeatedly like the Bourne trilogy because I catch something missed on a previous viewing. Love Sherlock's dry humor but you have to listen closely as he talks fast!! Valued addition to my small collection.
I loved this show when it was on TV, thanks due to the chemistry and acting of the two leads of Sherlock and Watson. At first I was not sure if I would like Watson was a woman but Lucy Lu was great, especially with scenes with jonny miller who plays Sherlock. So I knew when the DVD came out, I would want to buy it and I was glad to find on ebay for such a cheap price. I was very satisfied with how quickly I received and how the DVDs work.
Interesting interpretation of the Sherlock Holmes character. I also liked Lucy Liu as Dr. Watson. He is too brilliant to be real but that what makes it so entertaining . He sees a crime scene in so much more detail than anyone else. He picks up on clues that were missed by the rest of the detectives.
