I collect a broad range of cameras and I am sometimes sad that most of the nicer cameras were not made in the USA. There are a hand full of American built cameras that can be considered to be on par with the best foreign made cameras and the Kodak Medalist ii is one of them. High quality lens with overall very solid construction. So solid that it almost weighs 3lbs. Very unique focusing between the lens design and the rangefinder. The rangefinder is separate from the view finder (sits below it) and is somewhat zoomed in to get a better focus. It's actually not a bad idea and I am surprised that it was never copied. Overall, the Medalist ii, is very well built and has a unique design, which makes it a very interesting camera. The one drawback is that it requires 620 film, with can be found, but is much harder to find than 120 film. Basically some sellers take 120 film and put it on a 620 spool. Anyone can do it, but it's extra work.Read full review
