This Zoids game isn't all that bad for a GBA game. The graphics are pretty detailed when it comes to the zoids themselves, which is kind of impressive for the average quality of graphics for the GBA. The gameplay is turnbased with each zoid having a number of different attacks. Each attack has a given number of points that need to be used in order to perform the attack so there is a bit of stragey involved in some of the longer boss battles. The average battle really only lasts 1 or 2 turns when it comes to random encounters so the game is a little easy for the seasoned TBS players. As for the storyline, there are a number of different zoids characters from all over the spectrum of zoids cartoons and they are brought together pretty well in my opinion. This game is a good buy if you're looking for a portable zoids game in english.Read full review
When I think of a game for the Gameboy Advance I assume the characters will at least have some basic motions. ZOIDS: LEGACY is a good game for anyone a fan of the TV series. The game basically itself is good too. As a character in the game you participate in zoid battles, and can customize your zoid most any way you want to. It's also very nice that the game involves the Zoid characters as seen on the TV shows from Cartoon Network. There are only two real issues that I have but neither are all that important. The actions in the zoid battles are less than appealing with all the zoids moving like stiff-jointed statues. And a litte more training at the beginning on the use of the zoids and their systems would be a big help. But something had to be sacrificed for the large storyline and for the other characters and towns you will encounter in the game. Still, a slightly shorter game with less locations and minorcharcters but with good animated zoid actions would have been nice.Read full review
I have only ever played this game on Visual Boy Advanced (the PC emulator) but I have also had the pleasure of playing the game through its entirety. The game has some very good graphics for the time and the story line is, in my own opinion, on par with games like Morrowind, Fallout 3 or even Bioshock. This game is a must play for any hardcore fan of Zoids and I don't even miss the masty toon shading from the TV series. All in all though I rate it a 4 out of 5 stars from my personal rating system. The only thing I have against the game is that the sound quality might have been better as it reminded me more of Gameboy Colour.
I bought this game around the time it came out for the Game Boy Advance. When I started playing it, I fell in love with the story, gameplay, and characters. I really enjoyed watching the TV series early in the morning when I was young, so when I played the game, i felt like I was piloting the zoid. What kid doesn't want to destroy stuff with a robot shaped like an animal? So, I felt like I wanted to play it again, and sadly, could not find the game. This game was so fun to play, that I just had to buy it again to keep my GBA library as complete as I could make it. I would recommend this game to any zoids fan, as well as those who've never even heard of zoids.
Fun game! There's all kinds of customizations you can make to your ZOIDS (color, weapons, armor, generator output, ect.) and you can build your own once you get the correct parts. The game is simple to learn and understand plus you get to meet up with popular characters from the various ZOIDS series. Some of the characters and ZOIDS names are mis-translated but that's really the only bad part about the game.
