After receiving the subwoofer speaker and reading reviews from other people that owned it I hooked up the speaker to my Yamaha receiver and it sounded great. What's good about the Yamaha compatibility is that the speaker goes on and off when the receiver goes on and off and that's due to the trigger cable which is separate from the sound cable. Buyer beware if you do not own Yamaha receiver this function may not work for you but the speaker will still be usable by manually turning the speaker on and off. A main reason why I purchased the speaker was because of its size and because it can fit into cabinet areas which most subwoofer speakers will not. For the Yamaha user I suggest using the ypao mic hook up if you had one for your receiver once you receive the speaker and hook it up and adjusted to half volume on the speaker. It may play a little too loud if you hook it up directly without this change. Definitely a quality product as is my Yamaha receiver couldn't be more happier surround sound is magnificent with it glad I passed up on buying a Bose system or a soundbar.Read full review

Its a little boomy, as other reviews and review sites have stated. I purchased it for an under couch sub to fill out my 7.2 system, and when properly set works awesome in tandem with my full size sub. I don't like that it doesn't have auto on/off function, but I really don't mind leaving it on when not in use.

Not having the ability to fully express my objectivity towards the addition to this Yamaha powered sub; the most I can say it definitely enhanced greatly as I paired it with a Yamaha Soundbar I had bought for myself for a Christmas present. I did not want to break out and set up my (4) Yamaha NS-333s and (1center) NS-444 7.1 A/V speaker system. Nor did I want to spend an additional cost of a new Yamaha Aventage Receiver and a pair of outdoor stereo speakers for its zone B capability. So, I chose to get this sub after much research and marveled of it's powerful low sonic resonance and the 2 position options it was designed for. I opted for its regular stance and have it positioned beneath the table I placed my Soundbar on. The sound match to my sounder was perfect as the soundbar also has independent control over its built-in dual subwoofers. Overall I find it a great value ($104USD) and great design for use with a Yamaha Soundbar. I am glad I bought two. Just have to figure out how to be able to connect the second soundbar for a rear surround effect. Yahoo!Read full review

I like that it can be mounted horizontally or vertically. Great sub performance from a small package. Note: only input is LFE "subwoofer cable". It cannot be used with an amp that has speaker output only.

Can't comment at this time, as I have not had the chance to hook it up to my system yet.
