I absolutely LOVE this receiver! Great options for sound, and with on-screen menu, it makes set-up as simple as possible. Great clarity coupled with stunning punch and drive. All HDMI input allows to interconnect in various ways. I use this for home home theater setup, and output to my projection unit on a 100" screen. Works great with 3D as well. Love the options of having Pandora and NetRadio built right in. Added a separate TP-LINK wireless portable router to the ethernet plugin and PRESTO! Now I can listen to music from all over the world for free! Would certainly recommend this unit to anyone with a moderate budget. It's a great buy!

I couldnt be happier with the performance. Also the set up with the mic and on screen menu is a breeze

Summary: Quibbles aside, as a home media centerpiece/coordinator, this box rocks... First off, this is a complex product - lots of options to tweak. But I was looking for those options, including multiple inputs, dual HDMI outputs, bi-amplification options, sound/decoding options, network options (including Internet streaming), clean powerful 7.2 sound, etc. Pretty happy with unit so far, with only some quibbles: 1) Annoyance: I had to print the 140+ page manual, which is required reading, several times now, and I'm still coming across features - thank goodness for double-sided printing! 2) Disappointment: No real standalone web interface via web browser from a PC (though some Apple device users have reported success via modified app). As this is a discontinued product, I doubt Yamaha will put in the work (via firmware update) to enable functionality - pity. 3) To be determined: Possible uPNP (DLNA) incompatibility - I can't get an otherwise trouble-free Network Attached Storage device to work i.e. I can browse and play/stream audio files from NAS on a PC connected on our network, but V867 declares "Access denied". I was planning on updating NAS device anyway, so I have to see if problem re-occurs with new device I'm installing in a week or so. Bottom line: Not perfect, but pluses greatly outweigh minuses - If I can resolve DLNA issues, this will do everything (and more) that I want/need...Read full review
I was looking for a new surround amp that included HDMI switching, passthrough, and upconverion, and this was the one. Although I currently don't use the networking aspects, it's nice to know I can if I decide to. In addition, I utilize outboard amplifiers for the mains, center and surround speakers, so I needed pre-outs which this amp has. The only thing missing is a phono input, but I use an outboard preamp for that. I am a firm believer in Yamaha equipment, and this unit is no exception. It has all the needed features and beats all the others hands down.
Very good quality.
